There was a statement made a long ways back and used as one of the sales pitches about the fact that the game would not turn into a LFG type of nightmare where you spend the vast majority of your time standing around waiting to play.

Well the fact of the matter is although the trinity isn’t here and you can jump right into content with any player types we now have a much bigger issue which is overflow. I for one am sick to death of having to stand around and do nothing if I want to try new content and there currently is no choice in the matter. What the hell is the point of having chosen a server day one when I continue to spend most of my time in an overflow? This system needs a complete overhaul, and it should start with the combining of low population servers and getting rid of guesting all together. Then move into content design that doesn’t require people to be pushed into overflow at almost every event unless you stand there for hours which was precisely what you promised we wouldn’t have to do.

I’m fed up and can’t wait until another alternative comes out because having resided on TC since day one and almost always getting pushed to overflow is frustrating me beyond words. I have a job, responsibilities, a frakin life! I didn’t sign up to sit around in cue for content I signed up in hopes I would forever avoid having to do that!

Guesting is a good thing OP. I know it sucks now though, a priority system would be better I think. If you are of that server then you get priority to the main instance.

Giving people priority in queue for home server sounds pretty reasonable… surprised it doesn’t already exist.

Once I read that, I disregarded everything you wrote. Guesting was one of the things I am most pleased with. Being able to play with several friends from a few different servers when ever I’d like is awesome. So no.

There are much better ways to accomplish this, such as how Blizzard has does it. You simply invite a friend from another server, and they show up in front of you.

Well when you think about how ridiculous the premise is; you have guests come over to your house for dinner and they kick you out and you’re stuck going to eat at a restaurant and sleep in a motel.
People from the server should always be prioritized!

I’m pretty sure it does this already…..only in the queue though.
The problem is if people guested to a popular or known server for getting something done (like Tequatl) and camping in the map long before the event starts to ensure a spot. – yes this is happening. There’s nothing in place to give priority to people native to the server once guests are already on the map. Should they be kicked in favor of people native to it? I lean towards yes on this one. People on the server shouldn’t miss out on things on their home server due to people guesting.

They create overflow as an illusion that many people are playing the game.

I can’t get in to do Tequatl on my home server (TC) to save my life. The last time I figured I’d hang around and see how overflow handled it. I think we took maybe 5% off of it with a bunch of afk just getting killed over and over as people rezed them. I got a fang off a trash mob. That was totally worth it LOL. I won’t be committing any more significant time to try it again.

Now I certainly don’t have numbers where I could claim part of my problem is people guesting onto TC. However seeing as I have tried several times during off hours I would not be surprised if there were a lot of people guesting. The only other information I have is general chatter in overflow where people are talking about servers they have been trying to guest to because of the servers history of beating Tequatl.

tl;dr It isn’t fun. It is just standing around for no real reason.
