It’s an April Fools festival. Maybe it’s because April 1st is that weekend, 2 days later, and starting it Thursday put it right before the April Fools weekend and still gives them a couple of working days to fix any bugs that might appear.

It’s meant to start before the April Fools weekend. Last year it was from March 31 (Thursday) to April 19 (Tuesday). As for extending it to Thursday, they must have needed the extra days or were looking at the wrong calendar.
To give you 4 weeks of dailies probably.
Just a guess last years was kinda awkward when it came to that leaving you at 6/7 for the kaiser repeatable
