Stat Infusion
In a sense that’s an ok idea, personally would like it. However, I rarely swap stats on my legendaries and even if I do it’s usually between 2-3 different stats. This would basically mean that even the meager advantage of having a legendary weapon(looks aside) would be gone.
ps. If they would do this but give leggies some actual edge then it would be just fine :p
Well throwing some Ascended gear into the Mystic Forge, to change it’s stats, I found myself thinking; what if instead of losing one stat set, plus sigils/runes, for another stat set, that Anet just make so you can just add that stat set to the gear, making it so you can change back and forth to the stats sets you have added to the gear. It would be great if the same thing could be done with sigils/runes as well.
The caveat of this doing this, would be limiting it to Ascended gear. This would keep the cost/effort of doing so, close to the same as what can be done with Legendary gear, because trying to add all the stat sets to Ascended gear, certainly would be a pain to accomplish.
Thoughts, concern, input?
So, Legendary Armor / Weapons without the Legendary work?
At the moment, no, they can’t do that. The way the forge is set up, it doesn’t every change an item: it destroys everything you give it and gifts you a new item in return. They’d have to change the underlying code to make it preserve upgrade items.
Based on various things they’ve said recently, I suspect that they’d like to change that code, either for the forge itself or provide another ‘node’ with that functionality. It’s anyone’s guess whether that’s high or low on their priority list. (My guess: low — they have a lot of other things that are bigger obstacles to people’s game play.)
Legendary gear is largely all about the aesthetics and the work to make any Ascended gear ‘on par’, stats whys, with Legendary gear is no easy task.
