Q:
Stat re-allocation on celestial for MF?
Apparently, that’s exactly what will happens. The “lose it and gain nothing” part, i mean.
And i wonder how many people would have crafted them knowing that…
Will we get to put that 3% magic find on celestial items into a stat of our choosing?
I would totally put it into crit damage.
I salvaged my mf set when I finished my celestial set. It seems a shame to lose it altogether, but if we do, I want to decide on how, not just lose it and gain nothing.
Even without Magic Find, Celestial still has more overall stats than any other insignia. So the “loss” will not affect its viability. It’s already ridiculously powerful on Engineers and other classes with builds that actually utilize both conditions and direct damage, especially when roaming in WvW.

Yet it was considered balanced by having magic find as well when it was introduced – and at the time, removing magic find wasn’t even an idea – and now they’re just removing it. It is a nerf, nonetheless.
Saying that it isn’t affected is like saying that explorer’s and traveler’s would be fine as well cause you didn’t use that magic find to fight anyway.
And it goes against any talk of compensation they did when they talked about removing magic find – celestials are the only ones not having any compensation – heh, they’re the only equip actually being nerfed.
Considering they implemented armors and weapons fairly recently, they would have removed magic find from them if it was considered unbalanced. Yet they didn’t. And now that people spent materials or gold to get the recipes, crafted those items and maybe spent also some crystal to change their appearance, they nerf them out of the blue. I have said it even before: how many people would have crafted them anyway if they knew they would have been nerfed in such a short time? Not many, i would say.
In a way, it doesn’t matter that much in the end. I ground out the gear, I can grind my way up to 300% MF, (which feels like playing Diablo 3 when they made that possible).
They stated everyone would start at a 20% base MF (or something along those lines). I’m guessing that our bonuses from achievement point unlocks will add on top of that amount?
Magic Find only applies to the items dropped from kills, and not what you get in bags/boxes from them. But where is our greater chance of a pre-cursor coming from? The only one I’ve ever gotten was 4 same items (level 80 exotics) in the mystic forge. I sold it to a guildy, and that same item has doubled in price since then. I am lucky in the sense that I finally got at least one. I have played 1000s of hours (not logged in to check).
Do I want legendaries for myself? Not really, because I play an ele 99% of the time, and the daggers are too expensive. The staff is also too expensive for forge gambling. The scepter looks weird, and I don’t remember if there’s a focus. I mostly throw my gold into the gem store, which is a horrible rate, to change the appearance of my character, or open chests (more gambling).
Boon duration would make the most sense. Unfortunately, Anet has been mum about the fate of Celestial gear. Whether you bought it for the MF or not, this would be a straight-up nerf, no way around it.
How to Condi Reaper on a budget
Everything I say is only in reference to PvE and WvW.

Hahahaha. What? You can’t be serious. It has more stats but not all stats are equally effective and some are downright ineffective. There isn’t a build in the game that weights every stat equally.
They said they would replace magic find with something else so that it is not a loss. If they don’t do this with Celestial gear, it is simply a fact that they lied.

“Weapons, armor and trinkets with magic find will become account bound, lose their current stats and will gain the ability to be double-clicked to select one of several stat options depending on the item.”
Then again a bit later it says:
“All existing drops and crafting recipes that have created Magic Find gear will be replaced with three new combos:”
…following with a list that doesn’t include Celestial.
