State of EU servers?

Hello, I’m a European that played on NA, now I’m considering transferring to EU. Reason being is I hope to see more people in the dungeons LFG when I’m on, and more European based guilds.

But I’m wondering if it’s worth it. Random allchat discussions told me that EU tends to have worse servers, and worse people on average. Is there any basis for any of that or is it mostly just random nonsense?
The latter is remedied by a decent guild, I’m mostly wondering about the server performance.

Europeans aren’t a race, so it is not racism. It’s just prejudice. Some people said people tend to be more mature in the NA servers.
But even that is a bit subjective and that’s why I’m more interested in hearing about the server performance.

Gotta love Americans and their self-glorification. If anything EU has better players on average, and is much more competetive than NA in terms of PvP. Don’t listen to the main chat jabbering. NA teams have frequently been kitten d by EU PvP Teams.

EU Servers though, are probably indeed worse than NA. Lag used to be a big issue, but personally I haven’t had lag for months, it’s only those random disconnects every now and then that can get annoying. But you also gotta keep in mind that your ping will be WAY better than on NA, so the game should be smoother on EU servers.

Oh and theres a reason ANet implemented a English Only Chatfilter…works great for me.

Edit: Can’t say much for WvW though, big Blobfights will probably still make the servers lag, but dunno really.

Though I wouldn’t exactly enjoy seeing a bunch of Cyrillic in my allchat.

Don’t worry, cyrillic is not supported in mapchat and displays spaces. (I know ’cause my main keyboard layout is Cyrillic and I tried it…)

Russian is a rare guest in mapchat from my experience. You will however face a lot of Spanish, German, French and whatnot if you like doing things like world bosses, as maps are now always full of people and it’s a hot melting pot of different nationalities who can or cannot hear each other because of the lame lang filter chat hotfix.

20 level 80s and counting.
