Ok, after a playtime of around 2 months, already completed the whole map, dungeons do not appeal, got jewler and armorsmith at max level, made exotic weapons, rings, armor, got karma armor, finished the storyline a long time ago, the game is finished.
now the problem as i see it comes.
what to do next? nothing. only thing left to do is wvw, which will get boring cause friends have begun to leave guild wars.

the announcement of the new fangled armor thingy’s has been a blow to the comunity.
the banning of the bots (not bad, i don’t like botting) have made prices go sky high for crafting material, nobody crafts armors anymore, orichalcum price has dropped, no other way to make money, and the important question is, what to do with it even if i make it ?
i am thinking of quitting in a short while, because i have nothing else to do with my warrior, and i must outline the fact that it’s my favorite char, and class, since 3 days i started a guardian and didn’t touch my favorite char at all, i log in the char, and log out.
and after i get level 80 on the guardian , i’m certain i will have nothing to do in game, at all

a-net needs to act firm and fast or it will loose players very very fast.
i know a-net rushed to get gw2 out on the market but this is getting dangerous for the franchise.
hope they will start listening to their players.
any other opinions on the matter?

WvW only boring because its an unpolished zerg fest atm.

If ArenaNet spent less time adding progression PvE content and more time polishing their current content this game would be in great shape right now.

You have to ask yourself, what do you want to do with your your time in a game? Every game becomes repetitive at some point. It would be unreasonable to expect more content to be added at a speed which keeps it new and fresh for everyone. If you’re not the kind of person to repeat content too much, or not someone who cares about going for specific bits of gear, and you aren’t drawn to PvP and WvW, then take a break . Wait for more content, come back and play some more. You aren’t paying a sub fee so it’s much easier to drop in and out of the game as you want.

@quidgy.1483 i didn’t ask for new content in storyline,
i ask for somthing to do after i finish this, guild wars 1 has underworld, has fow, has kanaxai, elite areas, that are repeatable and hard, maybe these things are needed ?

Sounds like you had your moneys worth to be fair.. Its not like they took a sub.

I suspect the expansion will have to be sooner rather than later as they seem to have miscalculated (badly) how long it would take users to lvl up.

they miscalculated the reward system at endgame in the way that there is none, as i see it, dungeons give blue items in the chests, exhausted the weapon skins in game, seen all of them, except the legendary which i do not want to see

I could be wrong but if I remember correctly fow/Underworld and kanaxai and every factions, Nightfall, EotN content wasn’t there on GW1 release.

It’s a new game, you are 3 months in to the game and you say you are compleate, my advice to you is play another game for awhile, I think you are stressing your games.

Maybe those things are needed. I never played GW1 to endgame so I can’t comment.

I wasn’t attacking you, just trying to see what you actually wanted from endgame.

fow and underworld were original gw1 areas, and they kept their “eliteness” untill the day that shadow form assasin came with it’s permanent shadow form that could not take damage, and ppl got to finish them in speed clears of 12 minutes, areas that normally could take a very good party a few hours.

You’re comparing Guild Wars 1, to Guild Wars 2. One game which has been released 3 months and one that has had, SEVERAL years to build onto. Try another game till more content comes in, aim for a legendary …

They are giving you a new dungeon which, from the looks of it, it will hook players for quite a while. I also suspect that the reward system for current dungeons will also be improved which will fresh up their replayability

i was trying to outline the fact that in gw1 , there were elite areas since day 1, naming FoW and Underworld, for post endgame players, here there are no variety , Cursed Shore isn’t that, neither are the dungeons, if i get my friends up we could finish them in 2 -3 days , but finish them why ? what reward ? except the tokens for armors there are no rewards worth the trouble, armor i have, don’t need other. just need a challange.

I find that I have a lot to do still at 80 and I honestly prefer to play my 80 and not my alt. But I get that my playstyle is not yours.
It sounds to me that this new dungeon coming on the 15th is right up your ally.

I love running dungeons, I enjoy WvW, I still explore the world, I do jumping puzzles, I listen to the NPCs, read the text, really try to immerse myself in the world around me to get a true feel for the world of Tyria. I take part in the speculation of new content, the stories behind the opponents (like all the theories of the Lost Islands being about the Deep Sea Dragon) or the theories of the Pale Tree being a dragon lieutenant for a sixth unknown dragon.

I have several alts I’ve been levelling and gearing and also exploring their stories and races. I have not run out of things to do in GW2 and I felt like the new content was preventing me from having the time to fully explore the old content. On top of that a lot of the old stuff needs to be fixed before they add new stuff.

The only time I’ve run into a brick wall that really made me seriouly question whether or not I wanted to sink any more time in this game, whether advancing my characters was worth it, whether I wanted to bother to run another dungeon, the only time this became an issue for me was when they announced ascended armour. The plan to increase the playability of the game is actually acting as a serious deterrent for me to invest any more time in the game.

PvP should be an epic endgame and something to keep us entertained while waiting for new PvE content! WvW is, in principle, a fantastic concept… Just imagine being part of a great army, laying siege (or defending) your lands, your castles! Imagine if they improve that, by for instance creating mounts for cavalry, flying machines, more siege weapons, etc… I mean, you have to give it it has the potential to be the Thing!

For PvE endgame, dungeons, the never ending dungeon being added and further dungeons/areas that I am sure will arrive soon!

I am not worried… GW2 has a LOT still to offer! People do exaggerate a lot and some get tired but hey, such is life!

it’s clear that we have different play habbits, but the essance of the problem is still there , there is no endgame content,

Shiren, you have not finished the game yet, in the sense that you still do those things that you mentioned there, apart from the dungeons which i did not many, i have done and saw all that.

the fact that they want to make my armor obsolete by adding ascended is a deterrent for me as well

I am not trying to invalidate the OP’s issues, but please remember how long the game has been out on the market. It’s very rare to have such vast amount of content on a newly released MMO.

FFXIV had no content to speak of on release, neither did WoW, or EQ. I do agree that people tend to consume content much faster nowadays—especially if people have too much time to play—but it’s only been three months!

Sure I can but let me tell you a bit about my playstyle and I think you will see.
I dislike games that set goals for me and I prefer to create my own goals for myself.
From your OP you sound like the opposite because you seem to need clear goals.
I also missed that you disliked dungeons so I guess the new dungeon might not be your cup of tea.
My short term goal is to take Balthazar since it is a personal grudge at this point. Another short goal is to do all the unpopular events in SoD, Malchor’s and CS just me and my husband, since we are currently playing the rebels who refuse to farm Plinx

We have completed those maps, it is just what we feel like doing at the moment.

Another thing I want to do is investigate a rarely done event in SoD since there is a theory that this event chain might drop Final Rest.

Medium term goal would be to collect more armor sets with different specs, since I like playing with builds. Also while I do all this, I need to get some money so that I can start my MysticForge rare skin recipe hunt.
Long term- I haven’t decided yet if I will be going for the Bifrost. You get the idea….

I can also see that this will not help you at all, but this is just how I play.

You might consider the new area- I don’t know how repeatable it will be but it is a new 80 map. The new dungeon does sound like what you want though- infinite- harder levels, better rewards the deeper you go.
good luck

edit: oh and i really want to go back and tank and spank Coll Skullcrusher and see if i can solo the Shadow Behemoth.

so fair enough. move on. read a book. read many books. books are great, and they help with things like learning the difference between loose and lose.

I lolled here!

But yes, if you think the game is finished, and if you aren’t interested in either Dungeons or WvW, you will get bored sooner rather than later. Good luck to you to find yourself a game you can enjoy

OP-

See, the point of the non-subscription sandbox model is that you can come here, do whatever you want, and then leave. A couple months later, when there is more content, you can pick it up again with no cost and no loss of progress, because there’s no treadmill.

Wait. Something’s odd about that last bit. If only I could put my finger on it. Oh well.

You forgot to mention GW2 took over 5 years to develop. All 4 GW1 games were developed in 3-4 years. What’s your excuse now for lack of content?

O yeah lets not forget to add the fact gw2 is like months old now not years old gw2 hasnt had the time to grow most mmos takes them a year to 2 for xpacs and major kitten content patches so be happy we are seeing good stuff and the negative guys are a minority of players who seem to think every game sucks they are just more verbal about it lol.
