Well, that’s it, people. After some three thousand hours spent playing GW2 since launch. After the sad Scarlet joke and the LS, the megaservers, the tragic and still painful death of a certain charr engineer with a fascination for apples… I’ve decided to keep on playing Guild Wars 2.

For the last three months, I’ve been really trying to get out of Dodge, binging on other games. I’ve played ESO extensively during the beta. Hell, for a moment I even considered Wildstar. You know, at some point, you’re ready to do anything, so don’t judge me.
But nope, nothing worked. So I’m gonna stay. I’m saying that without animosity or bitterness. Just gonna, you know, continue and have fun in this lovely little mmo.

Glad that you’re sticking around?
As am I!
However, I will be subbing to WildStar. I thoroughly enjoyed the beta weekends I’ve done so far.
The best part is that GW2 is free, so I don’t have to quit to keep my wallet in tact whilst also playing a P2P game.

I’ll admit, I tried ESO the last few days as a change of pace. I couldn’t stand it. The character UI is terrible, the colors are bland, it just wasn’t fun or interesting. It reeks of a MMO that is trying to appeal too much to platform gamers. Just a few hours ago I submitted a refund request. I give it 4/10 so I’m back here with GW2.

I got my refund, so I’m sure you can do the same. I told a little white lie though..

I just told them the game wasn’t anything close to what I expected and I didn’t find it a decent product for the money. I imagine I’ll hear back in a day or so.

I never started spending money on the other MMO’s out there, but I only ever bought this game too. I haven’t spent 10 cents on the cash shop, just game gold. Doesn’t matter, I’m still looking for something else, and at times that means “anything else”, including a couple of cute little Flash based Tower Defense games that I like.

When the next great thing hits, I’ll know it.

My posts are facts as I know them, or my own opinion, and do not represent any guild.

Today I had the first day since a year when I simply did not want to see this world anymore. This crowded, pointless, ruined world. Hope it works out for you, but we, with my gf, are pretty much done. Together we maxed out 16 characters, bought about 58000 gems, and we’re completely sick of this pathetic wreck of a game Anet forced upon us this month.
We hoped to stay in Tyria, pay even more, help in making it even better. Turns out we were paying for some mad financial scheme that made me turn off this game for good after 5 minutes of watching the crowd trying to avoid each other on Cursed Shore. What’s the point? To see how my loot stash grows? Pathetic. I’ve been working in gaming industry for 7 years now. I can professionally call the last patch a ‘D -look, I’m circumventing the filter- ICK MOVE’.
gg. It used to be.

Hey dude, I was trying to be positive here. There’s that other post out there “My farewell” if you want to complain.

Kidding, you’re entitled to your opinion, even in “my” thread. Although it baffles me that some people HAVE to come to the forums and post about their leaving the game. Like anyone cares… I’ve quit a ton of mmos before, disgruntled. Never occured to me to go on the forums to tell the community about it. That sense of self-importance people have these days…
I’m usually fine with people complaining, even if some of them sound like broken records, at least, you can see it in the spirit of “I want them to make the game better for everyone, so here are my thoughts.” Those “I’m leaving” posts, though,… yeah, self-importance.
