Sticky Targeting
Press ctrl+T in your target, any time you lose focus of the target you just need to press T again to regain the focus.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
That’s all well and good but I was thinking of having an option to not lose target if you click the ground.
I don’t see any problems with the targetting.
If I click something, it targets it. If I click anywhere else, it untargets my target.
How is that iffy? It’s just… normal.
When you click an icon no your desktop, it selects it. If you click outside of the icon, it unselects it.
You can bind a key to “Nearest Enemy” under Targeting. Pressing that key will select the closest enemy to you, that helps when you select something else and need to get back into the fight.

Yes. You just defined the issue.
I’m talking about an option that will not lose the target if you click the GROUND. It’s called Sticky Targeting and every MMO has the option. GW2 does not. I’m wondering why.
The issue is that you’re clicking all over the place.
Learn to play better instead of asking the devs to adapt gw2 to your lack of skills.
Bind a key to “target nearest enemy”, that might help.
Oh Lord. That old argument.
GAIZ. UR IDEA IS STOOPID COZ UR BAD, BRO.
In Wv3, PVP and dungeons the battles are frenetic. There’s a lot going on. Things happen. Sticky Targeting assures you that the thing you had targeted doesn’t magically become untargeted if you accidentally click the ground. The ground…that thing that makes up 90% of your visual. If I use Whirlwind Attack and click behind the target, I don’t lose the target. So why not make it so those that wish to not lose target if they accidentally click the ground have that option?
It’s a QoL issue that most every other MMO at least has the option provided if you choose to use it.
But thanks for dismissing an idea with sanctimonious bullcrap. Par for the course on these forums.

This is bs.
Targets flickers no matter what I do. Some mechanics, like if the mob stealths, make me loose target. Evading and moving around the target will sometimes make me loose it.
But even standing still, just auto-attacking and not “clicking all over the place” I still loose targets.
Nearest enemy only helps you so far, as I and mobs are moving around. Trying to tab my enemy again is sometimes almost impossible, as I target enemies behind walls, in a cave beneath me, enemies I have no idea where is (maybe next zone?), and I kill the mob before I can target it again.
Sometimes it seems that if I have targeted a mob, loose it and try to target it again, its last on a list of all the mobs in the part of whatever map Im in.
Edit: Loosing target because mechanics, as stealth is ok. Loosing target because you face the wrong way while attacking is questionable, as some attacks are hard to stop/break/turn. Still, attack is and should be evadeable, so maybe not.
Loosing target for no reason is whats bother me.

Im sure professions that stealth love your suggestion.
You should lose target if the target stealths. That has nothing to do with what my topic is about.
I support this request… once again.
It came up more than once, e.g. here, here and there.
Undeliberately clicking the ground happens, especially if you turn the cam with the LMB.
Oh, btw, ANet, a working forum search function would not hurt either. ^^
Until then https://www.google.com/#q=site%3Aforum-en.guildwars2.com+SEARCHTERM saves the rainy day.
