Still no way to view our characters online? That would be awesome, don’t you think. It hasn’t been implemented has it?

This type of thing will likely be developed by 3rd parties in relation to the API. They are currently working on the authentication technology that would allow that.

It haven’t been implemented because it is not really something that most people would care about, and thus they won’t really put any resources into it.

that would be cool and i’m all for it but don’t be surprised if you get some resistance on the boards.

With armory, zerkers could see your non-zerk gear and remove you from their zerk only group. And apparently everyone wants to join the zerk groups in non-zerk gear so this would create an issue.

Rule of thumb: If WoW has it and GW2 doesn’t already have it people will be against it.

What? Don’t guilds encourage elitism? Doesn’t competitive pvp/wvwvw encourage elitism? Doesn’t a competitive trading post encourage elitism? Doesn’t a group vote kick encourage elitism? Doesn’t a LFG with group description encourage elitism?

People encourage elitism. Complain about player behavior, not the tools or potential tools we have access to.

Because tools would only add more elitism now. I am not Zerker. I have builds specific for sPVP, WvW, and Dungeons. I don’t need some arrogant brat telling me what I should I do just because of a meter. I hope it NEVER happens.

because of a meter? this is about armory. Take your fearmongering, anti-elitism rhetoric to that other thread.

Just advertise or join “all classes welcome” groups and you will reduce the amount of jerks you run into. Or stop pugging… jeez it’s not that hard to group with chill people.

Let’s just say there was a site where this was available, and you had to know the name of the character and server to access it. So, you could only see it if someone linked it. Like saying: Have a look at my gear and stats etc. Anything I can do to improve?

And, obviously, the reason I would like it is to view MY characters online, not other people’s.

Ah, its interesting, a fun way to show off and maybe form character profiles, but I don’t see that its needed.

I’m thankful that there is no “gear check” in GW2. IMO ‘gear’ doesn’t determine how good a player is at their character/spec and tends to encourage a sort of ‘all or nothing’ mentality with dungeons (zerk only cof, players kicking players from dungeons for running condition builds).

BUT I would like a sort of armory where I could show others what my character currently looks like and maybe my achievements. Nothing more than what can be seen in-game, but available on the web or a smart phone. Another option would be the ability to turn ‘detailed achievements/armor’ on/off.

This was one of the many things that was part of the official app that was suppose to be available soon after launch. They instead decided to abandon it and instead let amateurs make crappy apps that don’t do squat and cost money or are filled to the brim with banner ads.
