Stop making unannounced changes to the game
Would you mind explaining what changes in particular you are talking about?
If it’s a matter of delaying a Release to make sure every little change is in the Patch Notes, I’ll choose timely Releases every time.
Besides, there’s often Late Patch Notes added in the succeeding days, anyway.
Good luck.

I get where they’re coming from. Take the Lake Doric leather farm change, it’s not in the patch notes, even now it’s absent from the updated patch notes. Instead it’s in a separate thread. This was definitely a major change to gameplay for many and patch notes should note all changes to content.
Also as a general addition, The second post in the Lake Doric Leather Farm change has been removed. This spoke of working on targeting of the trebuchets. I find the removal of the second post troubling. Anet should be fine with being open with their info that’s posted about game changes. An update saying they are done with adjusting targeting for now would have sufficed, not deleting the second post entirely.
Sounds like someone is angry that their lazy leather farm was taken away. :p
Joking and sarcasm aside, whether or not you like or don’t like how they announced the change in Lake Doric, they /did/ announce it in these very forums.
These forums that many, many people keep saying they should use more.
Now, to play devils advocate, yes, I think they should have dropped those in where the rest of the patch notes go, but that’s nether here nor there.
I’m still with Rasimir.6239. What changes is the OP referring to? Coming here, dropping a complaint with nothing to back it up is not at all constructive…

I think trolls should have their computers smashed. ’Its all part of the game. U mad bro?’

Complaining about it at all, unless it’s especially rampant (and if it’s hugely rampant, there would be a long list of evidence…), is kinda childish anyway. Or at least showing a lapse in knowledge of how software design works. Sometimes, notes don’t make it to the one person who’s compiling it for release. It’s not that big of a deal.

it seems many like them better than the games they comment on.” -Horrorscope.7632

No actually I’m not mad it’s gone, it should have never been a work around for poor leather drops with high demand for every piece of gear. What you’re missing is the point of patch notes. They could have added that to the multiple additions to patch notes since the first one, instead they left it out. So why not include it in patch notes? It’s a fair question.
So if patch notes won’t tell you all of the patched changes, what’s the point of patch notes again?

Similarly, the refining recipe for silk was changed sometime recently from 2 scraps to 3, and I haven’t found that in the patch notes. I do have to admit that I haven’t done an exhaustive examination of the patch notes from 2016 to see if its in there somewhere, but it isn’t in any of the 2017 patch notes. And didn’t Anet say they didn’t want to fiddle with recipes any more?

That particular recipe was changed a long time before HoT released. Possibly within the launch year of the game.
Actually, hang on, if I check the Wiki the information there was changed from 2 scraps to 3 scraps at 16:29, 29 October 2013 so it’s a loooooong time ago.

Stop making unannounced changes to the game Anet.
It cripples your credibility, seriousness and feeds the sense of mistrust, no matter how small they are, load them all in the game release notes.Thank you in advance.
I try not to feed mistrust unless it’s hungry; it’s overweight already.
There are lots of reasons why some changes won’t make it into release notes — it’s actually really difficult to write them up in a form that players can absorb and all sorts of changes won’t have an important (direct) impact on us.
In addition, I love when they sneak stuff in, like new NPCs that are left for us to discover. I think that adds to the mystery and the breadth (or depth) of the game.
So without specifics, I can’t agree with any of the complaints. I don’t think ANet’s credibility is hurt by this (as low or as high it might already be).

Exactly. If players want to see when a change was made and exactly what the devs themselves say about the change, they will look for patch notes. Everything should be there.
