Tequatl is not getting removed, this new encounter is here to stay.
I do hope his boss achievements stay after next week too though, that I can’t say I’ve read so far.

Liadri was an awesome encouter, why remove it? We players want it back and i dont think it can hurt by not removing it
I love Teq, but knowing it will be removed few weeks from now sadden me.

Queen’s Gauntlet is part of the Queen’s Jubilee. It is a celebration meant to represent the strength of the humans against the many problems they’ve overcome in Tyria. It’s an annual event that Queen Jennah plans on having next year (confirmed by devs).
Tequatl’s revamp is a permanent change to the game’s encounter. This just one of the many bosses that were changed too (see Shadow Behemoth, Fire Elemental, Mark II, and so on). The only thing temporary about it is the “Boss Week” achievement set, which is very much able to be completed in the week remaining for the event. The other set of Tequatl achievements -that comes with The Sunless title- are permanent with the boss itself. Enjoy.

As others have said, Tequatl is here to stay..and the Queen’s Gauntlet will return.
The Boss Week achievements are limited, so get your dragon wings while you can! Teq himself will stay forevers! He may end up going the way of the Karka Queen, though.
Biggest mistake they made was having the daily achievement for simply participating on that fight. It just incentivizes (hmm, pretty sure incentivize is a word but forums say otherwise?) them to AFK at the event.

The changes to Teq are perm, they are here to stay.
The “Boss Week” achievements are ‘limited time’ (there’s only 6, inc the meta, plus the dailies if you want the meta) but are very easy to get. These are the ‘living story’ for this 2 week segment.
Teq’s individual Boss achievements (under “Boss” section) are perm as well. You can take your time getting those.
