I made it to the Straits of Devastation with my warrior and just about all the waypoints past Fort Trinity are always contested. This isn’t a bug, but shows a major problem as that map is pretty much all dead content and all the dynamic events are in a defeated state.

That’s the fate of all MMOs sadly.
New content goes live and old one stands forgotten.

With GW2 it is more dramatic cause of DEs and general abudance of group events in Orr.

This game is really set up for failure if it continues to be this way with older content. The previous game I came from wasn’t this way, though high level and low level content was mixed to ensure no map dies off. It was more the mini-games that would either be successful or totally die out.

I’ve seen this too.
If I’m feeling brave my husband and I dive in and try to un-contest them.
Unfortunately because the map is largely empty they don’t stay that way for long and you can be happily playing around to find that your retreat path has been locked behind you, just when you are being face stomped by some baddy.
I do hope that people will be returning to other maps once the shine wears off South sun.
unfortunately a lot of people are vanishing into the FOtM

It doesn’t help that that map (and all of Orr really) is one of the most annoying to traverse and has such a high density and fast respawn rate of mobs even without the DEs being in near permanent defeated state.

Imo all of Orr needs a rework.

The randomly spawning mobs of risen outside fort trinity get annoying aswell so they could use a nice timer tweak(once every 4 hours or so would be about right since they appear to be random), ive given up on my storyline at the moment due to the location of the lvl 74 quest being full of the more annoying magey type risen and me being prety much the only person in the entire zone 90% of the time since FoTm was added…gods help any new players headed that way who could use a hand with getting to grips with risen mobs in contested areas

I really don’t get this Orr.

As of now, Zhaitan is dead, ossuary destroyed and arc-ships sunk. Why there’re still so many risen for kittens sake.

Orr needs remake since it clearly isn’t designed for current population dynamics.

I reckon they need an “underflow” mechanism. If a zone has a population below a certain amount, they should move everyone into the overflow realm.

That way you would always have a decent number of people in the zone and waypoints would not stay contested forever.

It seems FotM is actually a cruel plan of dragons to destroy all resistance.
While every hero of Tyria is trying to get into the new dungeon, risen are rebuilding their forces.

They should just make waypoints in general to be uncontestable, or make them much much easier to recapture (like having to kill a couple of regular mobs in a red-circled area around the wp).

It’s a real issue with the later maps if few people are on them, they can’t use the main travelling mechanic of the game without having to go right across the map and being out-of-pocket unnecessarily.

Some maps have contested waypoints that are nowhere near where the event is taking place aswell so that could use a tweak(timberline falls for instance often has a contested waypoint way north of where the grawl event chain begins).

Yesterday was the first time I have seen the Arah dungeon uncontested in weeks. I did the run story mode a couple of months ago then I caught up on my personal story and found out I needed to run it again. It was not a joy when people are so uninterested in content it can stay contested so long.
