Strategy Guide
outdated and full of useless crap
not worth it.
Currently in my opinion no. I bought it, I can admit that. Do I regret it? No, it was cheap and gave me an outline. But really you can play the game a week and know most the things listed. You can explore the wiki or /wiki function in game to understand most things. The guide might be more for someone who:
A: Doesn’t have much time to play and wants a quick starter guide.
B: Doesn’t mind spending a few bucks on a tutorial.
And who knows, maybe someday they will have their own magazine, it wouldn’t be the first MMO to do it. And as Tondrin said, it is outdated now and could use some work. Perhaps it was more of an afterthought than something they wanted to delve into.

I bought it too, but not for strategy. I bought it for nostalgia, in advance. The game has already changed a ton since it’s come out. In a few years time, I’ll be able to look back and see what the game was like at launch. That’s why I buy guides for most MMOs. It’s fun to look back.
/m in LA can be your guide! :P
Depends on what you need it for
- quick levelling? Buy gems > crafting materials > levels
- help with missions > wiki
- help farming items? buy gems > buy items
- help gathering influence for guild? buy gems > buy the house a round of drinks
- need tips for dungeons? wiki
Frankly, there’s nothing in the guides that won’t work better by either going to the wiki or buying gems. The only real boon to the guide is having it offline, ie in the bus or in class.
