Forgive my ignorance, I don’t own a Mac; what is the issue with the current client for Mac? How is it different than the Windows version?

The current Mac client is a cider wrapper that Anet created through TransGaming. It isn’t much different. There are a few graphics settings not available. It has been in beta since it was released in 2012 and appears that it will remain that way for the foreseeable future. That’s about it.
