Streaming to get a sort of assurance
maybe maybe not. best of luck though
I’m not sure streaming would make any difference. If someone isn’t (or even if they are) watching Twitch at the time you are farming, they are either going to speak to you, in-game, and you can respond, or they won’t bother, and just report.
If you mean the stream (if recorded) will help you with the CS Team, I’m still not sure it is necessary.
Perhaps, moving around the maps occasionally would be more helpful. It would seem you would encounter DR without doing so, anyway. /shrug
Good luck.
These are the sort of stories that sort of ruin a few aspects of the game for me personally.
What if I want to, for whatever reason, just spend hours on end just killing the same mobs for farming purposes, all it takes is a few players who just think you may or may not be a bot, and bam, you’re suspended.
The hell is that about? I know there’s probably hundreds of tickets being filled for a lot of silly reasons everydays, but come on.
I’m certainly glad I never got suspended for spending hours in Queensdale farming the moas for their poultry meat, or more recently in the Silverwastes.
It’s seriously irking when a reason you don’t want to farm is “well I MIGHT get reported and successively suspended, so I probably won’t do it even though it’s nothing out of ordinary”.
Streaming would make no difference. If you look like a bot, people are going to report you regardless and 99.9% of the people will probably never see your stream or even care. Once you’ve been reported enough times, your account becomes a higher priority investigation, hence the ban.
You’re more likely to persuade people that you’re not a bot by creating a guild and having it say something as the guild’s name.
If you’re trying to prove you’re not a bot to support, recording yourself won’t matter either because it’s too easy to fake. This is why player submitted evidence is not valid and can only be used as a reference.
Being reported does not automatically trigger a ban. It creates a ticket that gets investigated.
If you were reported for botting and it looks like you were botting, then a ban will be issued.
If you weren’t botting, then you will need to contest it and a further investigation will be done.
The problem is that you are engaged in activities that are high on the “bot suspicion” list. You may want to simply mix up your activities more in order to look less like a bot.
you’re lucky if you get a level headed enough moderator to look over your bans and admit it was a "false positive.’ i’ve logged in 5k hours, 12k achievement pts, maxed magi find and have received one.. if it was for farming, a 2 second glance at my account would have confirmed i’m not a bot.. although, i spent 3 horrible days grinding out a backpiece in pvp around that time, so it’s possible i picked up a ban there.. i run with the ‘emperor’ title now, i doubt a bot would have that.. oh, and to answer your main question, no there is no assurance you won’t be insta-banned in the future.. a few tips, don’t gank-fest the mobs in the area if another player is around they’ll think you’re botting or just rage report you and if you do get banned again immediately contact support and keep an honest, rational dialogue opened until the issue is completely and professionally handeled
Botting is about using automated software to farm for things.
Even if you use such a software for only 5 minutes, the status of your account – achievement points, time played, etc. – will not matter. Only that, at the moment you were reported, you were using such a tool.
Now in order to figure this out, ArenaNet checks the logs whenever a report is made. They most likely ask themselves: Were you moving in an exact pattern for a long while? Did you answer to players talking to you to check if you were a bot? Or maybe they have automated ways of detecting software or macros being in use (high amount of commands in a very short time maybe?).
I don’t know exactly how Anet work these things out but, I do know that if you think you’ve been wrongfully banned you need to open a customer service ticket and, maybe, having a video recording to send them could help. But, if you don’t want the status of your ban to be public, don’t ask about it in public forums.
that’s exactly my point, why i can’t farm a zone for 10 hours straight honestly?i would love if someone of anetsupport comes here and discuss this matter ^^"

Because that’s what bots do. Normal players do not.
That makes your activity highly suspicious.

ive done dungeons solo repeatedly for 10hrs+.
Ive farmed a zone for 10hrs+ Halloween was one of the latest ones.
Ive practiced repeatedly the engineer dps rotation on multiple mobs for 2hrs+ till it became muscle memory.
Its not what bots do its what above average players do.
pfft. like saying people who play the market are bots because most players dont spend all their time in the tp.
also whisper me to check if I was a bot. Ive had that happen maybe 5 times. Never replied. Didnt realise that arenanet employed players who had the authority to enforce checks on my play style for legitimacy.
also if youre whispering me asking.. probably dont have the slightest clue what a bot looks like. either go b-deep and simply report me. or leave me alone.

I’ve always enjoyed farming, starting from diablo 2 with sorceress and hammypala to gw1 to diablo 3 to gw2,what’s happening is really really weird,i mean, based on what happened i’m basically afraid to farm alone anywhere, starting from frostgorge to southsun cove,i’m not even going to kill karka queen because i fear so bad a ban to get in southsun cove again,i just would like how to proceed,i salvaged tons of ecto to reach 302% mf(and i only play gw2 for 5 months, reached the maximum at 4 months)and now i just can’t farm, this is what frustrates me :|
Make your guild and call it NOT A BOT ( NAB) Then name your character, talk_if_thnk_Im_bot

is this seriously going to work?cuz if that’s so i’m definitely going to do it :|
I will make this very simple.
You cannot effectively farm the same mobs in the same map for more than 1 hour.
Let me introduce you to what is known as “Diminishing Returns”
Straight from wiki: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Diminishing_returns
Diminishing returns (DR) refers to the mechanics used to prevent bots and exploits from disrupting the economy and gaining an unfair advantage over legitimate players. There are several types of DR in the game, each of which is character-based with the exception of dungeon DR, which applies to the entire account. Although DR could affect most activities that have potential for abuse, very few players will experience it during normal play.
In other words, what you plan on doing is completely moot, Try diversifying your game play, example: farming Southsun for 1 hr, moving to Frostgorge for another and possibly to Orr for another and keep rotating in this manner.
This will not only prevent your character from hitting DR but also will prevent your account from being reported.
Also personal advice, if you intend on making gold, you may just want to run dungeons instead and buy the mats you are looking for.

bold claims.

Most bots don’t do dungeons. Probably too complex and requires too much being perfect to do solo. And getting five perfect would be even harder I would imagine.
Holiday stuff it would likely not be abnormal to see a player doing the activities at time a and then several hours later still seeing them there.
Multiple mobs sounds like multiple areas and you said it was to get a rotation.down, meaning at least to start you weren’t doing the same things in the same order or at the exact same pacing if someone was watching to see if you were a bit.
OP said they were fighting underwater on one map for ten plus hours. I can’t think of an average player who would do the same map and the same mobs for ten plus hours. And if they weren’t doing different attacks, then I can see how they would be confused with a bot.
It’s your name to trick them into thinking you are some automated player ;D

A piece of advice could also be to chat with other players. Particularly if they try talking to you. I think most ppl would attempt to talk to someone before concluding that player to be a bot.
So answering anyone talking to you would instantly erase the risk of getting reported by that player. (I don’t think bots can generally answer? or is it just that most aren’t programmed to? perhaps someone with more knowledge about bots would know this)
I did a fair bit of underwater farming but never got reported for it. Though I don’t think I ever saw another player near where I farmed either now that I think about it, so that could also be a factor.

I always thought that their ‘investigation’ into reported bots included watching your screen live, from your point of view. PvP has that ability, so I assume mods also have that for anyone. If you are on patrol and don’t deviate, someone watching you could agree you are a bot. If you do random paths, I would imagine they would easily see you’re not.

I started today to farm cudas again,i’m adding every single player to the party who’s there and we’re always farming as a team, also i’m farming the zone for not more than 30 mins each time, then like you said,i go make a fractals or some dungeons,i need to do the things right this time, got banned 3 times for bot(which,i repeat,i never used) since i used to farm cudas for like 1 hour and half straight for a total of 5-6 hours each day, they just said that my unban was going to be the last one and i don’t want my account terminated for something i didn’t do obviously.
