Strongest PvE (or Solo) light armor wearer?
necromancers are unrivaled in PvE imo.

“but I don’t want to feel weak.”
well if your only experience is warrior that might be a problem
Necro is plagued (teehee) with quite a few bugs that limit their effectiveness right now.
Ele’s will probably feel the weakest out of all the cloth armors.
I’d stick with mesmer. I have been told by basically every mesmer ever that they get way more fun at level 40. Stick it out till then, and if you really dont like it after that, try a necro or elementalist.
I play ele mesmer and necro. I would say go mesmer to feel powerful. Plus i can take on mobs with barely taking any damage at all. I do like my D/D Ele though. He’s fun to play. Necro has crazy high HP for a cloth wearer, and really great condition damage. It just depends on what you enjoy the most. Since you play warrior though you are not going to feel nearly as powerful.
I have an Ele and Mesmer at 80. I have a Warrior at 80 too. Both, of course, require a tad more caution than the Warrior did, but when I looked at deaths per hour the Warrior died more often. Maybe it was my lack of caution.
The Mesmer is not weak, imo, I used a GS-S/P power-crit build and the Mesmer felt strong. The Ele, of course, is strong and can do massive damage. I actually had more fun and felt more untouchable with the Mesmer. I haven’t got my Necro out of the 20’s and, yeah, they do feel kinda weak while leveling—really like the playstyle though. So, yes, the Ele puts out huge damage, but with the Mesmer or Ele I didn’t feel weak. The Ele has some advantages for leveling like AoE that gathers a lot of XP along the way. Looked at from the other perspective, the Ele felt more vulnerable and “weaker” from that perspective. Different, but you can’t go wrong with either. I love both of those professions.

Wanna facerub mobs to death like a warrior play Necro, wanna play and watch a movie or cuddle with the missus at the same time play a Mesmer, wanna ride on the edge of your seat and bash your keyboard until the 40’s and feel good about killing a mob before it kills you play an Ele.
My sig say’s which one I picked as a main.

See the thing is the poor enemy AI is what makes the necromancer so deadly effective in PvE. You drop a well, a human player might get out of it, enemies, rarely. Wells are mighty good.

The clone on dodge trait is a game changer.
Gonna go with necro on this one. My main is a necro and I rolled a mesmer alt, but found it took way too long for mesmers to kill things. Probably cause I didn’t level it enough to enjoy “proper” mesmer gameplay. -shrug- Necros though, just tag every enemy around you, shoot down a well or two, and bam. My necro has a health-siphoning dagger build, too. It almost plays…vampiric assassin-y.
I rolled an ele alt and it made me feel so freakin squishy. Really frustrating. The micromanagement of skills bothered me, too.
I had a necromancer with scepter/dagger (for aoe damage) and minions. PvE leveling was pretty much easy mode.
im actually really disappointed at how there are so little ‘fast hitting’ enemies for retaliation or confusion to be any useful in PvE. Retaliation is probably worse of the two.
