Hello,

Before I begin I hope you can all excuse any spelling/grammatical issues as I am on my phone.

I have read many threads on guild wars 2 about how when you hit lvl 80 the whole game goes downhill. I’m here to tell you all that this is false information and give you some tips. Personally I am saving up for Tier 3 armour. Some more things you can do is:

•Get 100% map completion

•Purchase a Legendary

•Make another level 80

•Join a fun guild and dungeon

•Try PvP/WvW

There are many more things to do, these are just some things I would recommend for players new to Guild Wars 2. Don’t expect to get tier 3 or a legendary very soon either. These are items that will take time to collect, this is what should make the game fun. Set goals guys!

I hope this helped a bit to all new players. If you have any questions feel free to ask below.

- Grind
- Grind
- Grind
- Guild hopping, WvW is a zergfest, no guild halls, etc.
- For what reason?

Most people complaining are unhappy with how the game plays. They want more depth in the combat / skill / traits systems and want more group content to do that is challenging and inherently rewarding, not just a meaningless grind that will be pointless when they release ascended gear and another tier in 2014…

Excuse the hyperbole, but your list really carries no water. Most people have been doing what you’ve suggested for many many months, you seem to be late to the party.

“We don’t make grindy games.”

Yay for trivializing the OP with the very first response. It’s very easy to label things grind. Even moving around the map…

Thank you OP for trying to be helpful…I would also recommend doing jumping puzzles (some are REALLY well made), and hosting guild events. The former is challenging and the latter is inherently rewarding…at least imo.

I would also suggest trying out different classes up to level 40. I thought I hated the elementalist, but the staff and d/d ele builds are some of my favorites now.

These are the only two states you’ll find the world of Tyria.”

Inherently rewarding for console platforming fans, not so much for MMO players, where you’re hearing all the negative feedback from.

The only thing that is a grind is getting a legendary.

If you want to see a real grind go play any other MMO. I suspect people who are dissatisfied with GW2 endgame are people who came from WoW or elsewhere that their grinding rewarded them with distinct superiority over other players. Here the “grind” is pointless because you don’t get any gear that lets you faceroll other players or normal PvE content.

Horizontal progression IS COMING, my friend. Takes time to create.

what has purchasing a legendary has to do with fun? Nothing… i don’t want a legendary ever. 100% map is boring no because world of gw2 is boring but because its empty. DO i want to map additional 38% in huge zones where im the only person inside? hell nooooooooo. Making another level 80 and level up in deserted zones? No thanks brah. Joining a guild? You don’t need to wait your first level 80 to join one and most everyone is in one since their first 10 levels… WVW is the only good answer, spvp isn’t a good one.

Fact: every Thief tells you to “l2p” when the subject is to nerf stealth.

Can’t stress enough just how true this is.
