I’d like more content like the Mini Black Moa quest. Different world-encompassing quests that off a cool reward (like the Mini Black Moa…please) at completion.

The ability to set status before entering the game.

Some nice rewards that don’t take months and months or gobs of Gold to earn.

Lots more APs to earn. And with that, changes to the Achievement Chests so that they are something to look forward to, again.

I have no idea what/how, but something done about inventory management. It takes as long to deal with inventory, as it does to earn the items to manage.

I’de like to see smarter Ai . With player skill sets . That adapt to the fight , and have a downed state .

Even some really elite Zergs of smarter type npcs in a mob roaming maps .
The kind of thing where you have to be at your keyboard fighting back or running away or you will die in a hurry . The kind of thing that’s impossible to afk and still win .

More elite specs with weapons not tied to the trait line.
New profession.
New race.
New guild hall.
WvW and PvP improvements/fixes.
New weapon type (two handed axe!)
More legendary weapons and armor and better/more ways to acquire the armor.
Ways to make a profit on excessive essences of luck.
Key ring.
More alternatives to dispose or profit off excess ascended items. Salvaging is kinda pointless.

- A guardian elite spec that doesn’t suck balls.

Count yourself lucky. They have one of the most viable current elite specs in the game. Go look at scrapper if you think dragonhunter is that bad.

I enjoy scrapper a lot more than DH and was my pvp character for a long time. It all depends how you look at it. Yes DH is very good now, but just as a dps. No one ever made a guardian in core game because they wanted to be the dmg dealers. Guardian was a support class. I would personally either go back to that role or get a more interesting way of dpsing. In pve all that DH is is the same old core guardian play, stripped of most meaningful support while adding some uninspiring traps.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!
THE GAME NEEDS A MASSIVE REBALANCE OF ALL ATTRIBUTES AND THEIR USEFULNESS!

Right now, it’s simply designed wrong!
99% of the important meta events that mater depend on strict timers, thus requiring huge dependency on DPS builds and the rest of the content being just more fun to be finished faster regardless, thus limiting the usefulness of the Defensive Supportive builds for rare and specific Raid and PVP situations.

That would be ok for any other MMO but GW2 isn’t designed that way.

  • For starters, there is no gear treadmill (the acquisition of rarer gear doesn’t require gear of lesser rarity, and the rarity of each gear doesn’t represent it’s numbers) and the gears are designed around you getting different stat combinations instead. So having content that requires high DPS is pointless when nothing stops you from investing on the most aggressive stats from the getgo.
  • Then, the majority of the content is non-instanced, so the situations where you can rely on other ally players having some specific non-dps build to tacle a special situation are very limited.
  • Third, most of your defensive options don’t scale with your attributes, with the Downed and Dodge mechanics being the worse offenders, and the unstackable boons and the CCs come close afterwards.

With the above in mind, I would rather have “Guild Wars 2: Enhanced Edition” as an expansion, as it’s a lot of work that has to be done, far beyond the level of a seasonal future patch.
For the time being, the more I play, the more the above problems become more clear. And I already made suggestions on the issue.

Besides the above, not having story chapters missing or being unfinished would be nice.

More guild slots (in addition to the 5 we already have). Five is no longer enough! (especially when you belong to a guild that is split into several sub-guilds because everybody can’t fit into a single guild.

Lots and lots of Achievements.

More guild hall levels and worthwhile stuff to go with them.

Playable Largos characters.
Also, if you do the Largos thing, you should have a sunken Atlantis type island city somewhere and call it “Key Largos”. And maybe you have to quest for the ancient lost “Largos Key” as part of the living story. (This is a pun on Key Largo in the Florida Keys for those that don’t know.)

I’d like the ability to create and save builds so that instead of pulling up a note document and consulting it to change my build, I can just select a build I’ve designed like, “Crit Thief 2” or whatever and suddenly all my Traits and Skills are properly selected. It would probably be essential to make it where people have to be out of combat to do this and maybe not allow it in WvW except in places where combat really can’t occur, like the home area in each zone. Otherwise someone who is quick to change builds could unbalance the game.

Another complete set of elite builds.

Maybe thieves could be ninjas (dual swords) or assassins (sniper rifle) or whatever.

Engineers might become golem riders (give them 4 basic types of golems to ride around in with a different base skill set for each kind of golem – like elementalists with their 4 elements).

Similarly elementalists might be able to transform into elementals, again with 4 sets of skills.

Necromancers might get the ability to build a Frankenstein’s monster type pet that they control with their left set of skills while retaining their normal right set of skills. Maybe they can unlock different types of body parts and have recipes to create different types of pets. You could have a template for each unlocked pet recipe that shows a blank depression where each body part goes as it is discovered until the monster is complete. Then they have to do something to bring the monster to life.

Rangers could magically hybridize themselves with different types of animals, unlocking new, animal based abilities.

Mesmers . . . I got nothing. MESMERS ARE OP!

Guardians – Can choose to either be a Paladin or a Dark Knight (basically an anti-paladin). This choice is quasi permanent in that changing back and forth from Paladin to Dark Knight involves a big quest, collecting rare account bound items, etc. You don’t want to force someone to start a new character to change over, but you don’t want people bouncing back and forth every day either. You could spin the Dark Knight thing where it’s not about being evil (or being Batman) but more about darkness and shadow as opposed to light.

Warriors – Martial artist. The martial artist loses the ability to wear heavy armor and must wear light armor instead. He/she can use cestas. Evasive abilities go up. Gain a special “chi” related attack like “Hadouken”. Have other chi related attacks and defenses.

Revenants – I got nothing. REVENANTS ARE OP!

- Elite specs that take all game types in account (looking especially at you.. scrapper)
- Longer story with less cut content (who are most of the guys at the mordemorth battle platforms???)
- No stupid grind to get the story going
- A balance between Ls3 style and meta focused maps… also more then 4 this time…
- New cool masteries that actually impact the gameplay (like gliding)
- Early enough open beta for everybody to check out the new specs and dev communication about them to fix issues and work on needed changes… (look at revenant´s pre-hot dev communication stuff, THAT is what i want for all specs in the next x-pac)

The irony is that in the PvP formats, full DPS is the worst way you can possibly build, and even partial DPS is only semi-viable on one or two professions. Tank is much better.

PvE problems stem solely from a mix of bad encounter design and poor/predictable scripted “AI” that allows playing DPS to be easy, paired with a community mentality that everything needs to be killed as fast as possible for getting the most loot per hour.

PvE problems stem solely from a mix of bad encounter design and poor/predictable scripted “AI” that allows playing DPS to be easy, paired with a community mentality that everything needs to be killed as fast as possible for getting the most loot per hour.

The even bigger irony is that while PVP is the only place you might see some stat diversity, it’s also the only place where all gear is given you by default, and there is no point on making/finding it.

In PVE, all importand events have strict timers. The daybrake in Verdand Brink (allong with the possibility of catching up on another boss), the limited time there is for the simultaneous boss defeat in Auric Basin, the whole Chak Gerent, the enrage timer in Raids. Other MMOs have Timers on their content as a proving ground for their gear trendmill, as there low tier gear means low damage and one-shot deaths.
The thirst for efficiency is a also a bit factor, as the game doesn’t punish weak differences and death, and with all combinations being available from the get go, the choice is pretty obvious.

That’s what I call a game “being designed wrong, with the best intentions”.

There are two ways to fix the Meta at this point. One is to redesign all new and existing content. The other is to give some way for the other attributes to participate in the killing speed/efficiency.

Both of them will require major changes to most characters skills and math, so the best opportunity/excuse for that is as part of a new expansion.

One of my favorite parts of GW2 is that it doesn’t have this system. Games with this system almost always devolve into grinding forever to get those equips with the one mod that is best (because there will always be one that is the best), which sucks the fun out of the rest of the game. I think this would be a bad change to implement into GW2

There isn’t anything wrong with the system. I’ve seen it done competently in games. I play Path of Exile and it does it very well. But I attribute that success to GGG’s design philosophy. Chris Wilson has talked in detail about it all here and there.

But I do realize that Arenanet isn’t really experienced in that kind of thinking, as evidenced with the game’s state of runes/sigils and their tendency to favour vertical progression over horizontal. So they wouldn’t do it justice I believe.

I find it much easier to define what I don’t want in the next expansion.

I don’t want players thinned out in the existing maps, leading to more and more failing current events. As such, I’d rather like re-use of current zones more than a ton of new ones.

Having said that, obviously there will be new zones. So please, make them NEW. I seriously don’t want to go back to things of the past and instead move forward. Please, bring new landscapes and NOT Cantha or Elona. No matter how good you design it, the only comments in the public will be “but it is not as good as it was in GW1” anyways and I can live without that.

Personally I neither need a new race or a new class. I don’t even enjoy all races we have now and I cannot see space for mechanics of a new class, at least not in a way that it would make balancing even more of a pain. Instead, focus on splitting skill effects for the 3 game modes, much more important.

Story, hmm… I don’t care of the story. In 4k hours played I finished my personal story only once, played through LS2 and HoT stories only once and am doing LS3 only on one character, just to advance.

Being a player who hates instanced group content with a passion (I came to GW2 because of its open world, there are dungeons where until this day I have not even done story mode once), I can totally live without new dungeons or fractals or raids. I know however that for some strange reason something as immersion breaking as instances are a thing that is expected from an MMO somehow. So if there are any new instances, why not add them ARPG like, randomly generated with a preselectable group size starting with 1 and with a preselectable difficulty setting? Maybe I would do those.

I have given up on PvP in this game, so whatever will be added or removed there is of no interest to me at all. WvW however is a different piece of cake, it is the game mode I enjoy most lately, so there are some things I really do not want to see happen. Please do not do server merges. WvW needs a lot of improvements for sure, but server merges will only make things worse. Instead, maps with an intense, strategic layout and not too much verticality would be much appreciated.

All in all personally I cannot think of enough things that I want so that it would fill up an expansion. I found my niches in the current game, am happy playing the things I like, am happy ignoring the stuff I don’t like and I am quite sure whatever it is that will be in the next expansion, I will just do the same then as well.

Not sure what would be area(s), I want to see them all

For things I hope for in the new expansion:

- New elite specs are not stronger than the current elite specs. We need diversity not power creep.

- More maps. HoT had 4 maps, which were fairly decent and large. Still, were not enough. Maps are integral part of GW. More maps will be great. In addition, Fire Isles and Blood Fen were better in design and accessibility than HoT maps, which hopefully will be the trend going forward.

- Accessibility. On the maps subject, the navigation of HoT maps without mastries was a major turn-off early in HoT. Obtaining the mastries as well, was not a fun process.

- Story. LW3 so far has been good. Hopefully that will continue in the next expansion. Hopefully we have much longer story than HoT.

- Mastries. Hopefully we get something as cool as gliding.

- No more adventures.

- New class. We need a well developed fully fledged class, unlike Rev.

- Rev. Please devs spend time to add more weapons to Rev. Currently they are the class with the least number of skills and the least diversity of builds among all classes. They have one solid build and that’s it.

- Diversity. More on the sPvP side of the world, it seems devs have been fixated on having one viable build per class centered around elite spec and that is about it. We need more diversity.

The most imortant thing to add would be a little bit of build diversity, as it is now most classes got a certain build that is so strong that everything else seems worthless. And it would be awesome to see the elite specs scaled down so u dont have to go for a DH build if u want to play guardian for example

I know it isn’t in the cards (it’s expensive) but I’d really like a new race or two.

Failing that, one of the great disappointments for me in HoT was fairly small number of new skins. I’m sure it is cheaper to do weapons than armor but:

a) reclaimed weapons are the definition of ugly. At least add some nice new ones.
b) one of GW2’s strength’s is attractive characters. Play to that by adding new faces, new bodies, new armor. It can really keep folks coming back

Other than that, new pvp arenas and wvw worlds would be outstanding. I just ask you to keep in mind that a good chunk of your player base is casual… don’t forget us please.

Stuff you’d expect from an expansion:

- at least 8 maps my personal prediction is 4-5 HoT sized maps
- 5-8 new dungeons Unlikely, the dungeon team has been disabled, and they announced disinterest in ever continuing dungeons. Instead, they moved on the fractals and raids, but imho, fractals have been a bit neglected anyway
- 1-2 new raids we will get a new 3-wing raid
- new race/profession/subclasses (either one is okay) we’ll never see a new race for obvious reasons. We’re guaranteed no new classes anymore, instead, they look to create a set of Elite Specializations every expansion
- some new unexpected features like GvG or towns you can attack with your faction etc.
- oh yes, factions there’s a huge cantha forum already. But if we are to believe the Papaya Leak we’ll go the Amnoon Oasis this expantion
- landmass would be lovely if in Cantha or Elona
- a longer story than the excuse we had in HoT (comparison: 4-5h in HoT vs. 20-25h in Guild Wars: Nightfall) I agree, HoT was easy to rush. But they’ve now announced that they want to keepnthe expantions at a smaller size so they can make more, faster. Innexchange they also said it would be cheaper than HoT, and we’d get more content innthe LS updates to compensate for story, so LS3 is already considered part of expantion 3 events

My 2 cents if a new expansion releases:

  • Build variety/profession balance (elite specs, bringing core classes up to par with elite specs)
  • Split BALANCE amongst game modes (WvW, PvP, PvE)
  • New RACE (Tengu or Skritt would be heaps of fun)
  • New weapons (2H halberds, 2H axes etc.. land spear please)
  • 500 Jeweller/Chef (I want to craft my own ascended trinkets please)
  • More attention to Rev/Herald underwater skills (Can’t even use Glint…)
  • Ability to swap Guild Hall theme if a new cooler looking Guild Hall(s) are released
  • More Guild Hall tree decorations would be lovely
  • New monster(s) NPC model types (Tired of seeing recycled Wurm models that have merely been skinned over with the same animations)
  • Parallel Glider Skills from Bloodstone Fen into new zones (they are fun!)
  • Ranger pets (Buffing core ranger pets would be interesting too)
  • Armor SKINS (no lazy outfits please… also Bladed Armor was horrific aesthetically, please draw inspiration elsewhere, no offence)
  • Build/gear templates
  • Badges of Honour on par with other game modes regarding Ascended gear acquisition (Fractals can buy rings with purely relics, Guild merits, raids have their own currency for asc gear etc…)
  • New WvW masteries (Revision/improve old masteries e.g; Build Master - spend 15 supply when building siege as an added tier)

Probably heaps more but that’s off the top of my head.

Will be mostly PvE-oriented since I don’t do any PvP activities at all.

  • A profession campaign. To fight the dragon (two dragons??) your character must train with the legends of their profession. That campaign unlocks your elite specialization in PvE.
  • That one might sound petty, but can we get a story that does NOT put Sylvaris at the center of the picture this time? The vanilla game glorified them all the time, and the first expansion was all about them. I would like to see some story being written to explore the humans being on extinction (seriously, my human’s personal story has not mentioned once that the human race was in danger…) and then let’s see if charrs are eager to help humans. Let’s talk a bit about norn culture, let’s put them in a situation that challenges their way of life. Let’s make something happen that teaches asuras a lession of humility… or not. Just explore other races than just sylvaris this time around.
  • Armor skin variations. Since making armors is apparently very costly for the company due to all the race/gender combinations, allow us to craft different variations of existing armor sets, like changing the texture on cloth, the specularity on metal, etc. Give us an option to toggle on and off part of the armor. (Don’t like “skirts” on heavy armor? Craft a variation that does not have one.) Female characters should also have the option to use the non-revealing version of an armor. (I don’t really care personally but that’s been a recurring request since launch.)
  • A new “hero” system where you can slot story characters as party members in instances. Similar to GW1 but only in instances because I don’t want to see 36 clones of Ritlock on a boss zerg. So if you want to do a dungeon but you’re only 3 players you can slot, say Taimi and Logan. Then you must gear, train and level these characters, which would give you a point to train leatherworker on a warrior or armorsmith on an ele other than just gold.
  • A completely revamped equipment system. Stats like Power and Precision are boring and are best left to WoW clones. I’d like a system where each slot has a choice of very powerful and game-changing effects that you can put on your gear, and your build is basically which combination of these effects you put on your character. A bit like Diablo 3’s legendaries, but without D3’s ridiculous stat inflation. (That one’s probably way too game-changing and more for a GW3, but I’m leaving it there anyway.)

Less verticality. And less platform-y. Sometimes I think I’m playing Rainbow Islands or Prince of Persia from the 80’s.

Home instance – i want to be able to add decorations, possibly crafted using scribing but also using the world boss drops like shatterers crystal shard etc you can now use in guild base
An ice themed guild base sounds amazing!
A big chunk of personal story! Including difficult choices that need to be made.
A new playable race would be nice, but i can live without.

A Revenenat without bugs – that would be a pretty decent starting point.

Finishing off underwater skills would be a nice QoL too.

Many alts; handle it!

Skills to inherit keybind of previous skill that went on cd. So I will press left mouse button or 1 for aa and press four times 2 to put rest on cd. Same individual for utilities and same individual for f profession skills.
Sigil that will spawn bouncing orb that will deal dmg:
- less reliable than aoe effects, but more unpredictable.
Reviving skills combat message – set by deafult turned off – if ally is you revive utilitly and you will be affected golden game message pops.
Reviving utilities icons above player that use it, players and place where it will take effect. Its contains revivie icon+icon of utility.

Progression -
- stronger mobs and harder encounter, but don’t want catching it by: raising gear or even stronger elite spec.
Suggestion -
- sigil – elemental damage – for example we deal against shadow foes, so we need finish them with divine dmg othervise they will have second life. Finish effect from sigil like that will take precedence before dmg types from conditions and legendaries and other weapons.
- sigils are easier to change not so tiring.
- henchaman – who? – commander – your other character in your acc. Two of you will be enough to deal with harder content.

In the Crystal Desert, wurms are the mount/disguise I’d like to see there.

If I’d start here to list up things, I’d be probably not done with the list until tomorrow I guess..

the game is simply way too many things that need improvements and could get expanded and added, that i quickly hit on the forums limit of 5000 letters and woudl have to make for surem ultiple postings just to get listed up everythign that comes to my mind to make a complete list of things that could be done for this game via expansions

Personally I like the idea behind sub classes ~ quoted from Chris Whiteside

IF we go to Cantha, I would like Naga for a playable race. IF we got to Elona, I would like the Elonian Centaurs as a playable race. I would also like to see a re-implementation of the Scythe as a new weapon type, and for Mesmers to be able to dual-wield pistols.

BUILD TEMPLATES.

Improving underwater combat instead of orphaning it. Just tethers and/or rangefinder reticles would be huge.

Pie in the sky: sea dragon expansion. 90% underwater. Largos or quaggans teach us to use all our skills and weapons underwater, and to use our underwater weapons on land. (The shark spear becomes the #1 legendary, leaving Eternity in the dirt, and making the precursor so expensive it’s actually cheaper to craft it.) Maps are so open the forums cry for the good old days of being herded through three-dimensional labyrinths like Tangled Depths.

Balance in wvw and removal of troll builds.

Wich means remove part of what gw2 was designed for, and for some troll builds are builds that are very clever and players skilled.

For some cap a empty tower with 20+ is skillfull as well…

This is the kind of players Gw2 is for so expect more troll builds with next arc.

1st April joke, when gw2 receives a “balance” update.

I wont say anything that makes my c9mment reported but if troll builds is something some gw2 players expect then i have a few names for those kind of people.

Most important thing for me is SPACE. I need more maps! More things to explore! Dont get me wrong, I loved HoT but it was just too small for me. The density of content was great but I’d rather have less density and x2/3 number of maps. Exploration is just too much fun to drop it!

Second thing for me is a good and balanced set of new elite specs along with maybe (!) some additional new skills for the base profession lines (even 1 extra skills per category would be enough and LOVELY).

Third I’d hope for some new and spicey masteries. I know it might be difficult to think of new and good ones but I have faith they’ll do it!

And for the love of god… bring back dungeons! Or a similar concept for 5 man groups that is not as hardcore and timeconsuming as the raids!

And last but not least… many new weapon and armor skins!

Regular and not vertically or gimmick focused maps.

Server transfer limits for WVW.

New weapons, for example spear on guard and mes made playable on land.

Less overall powercreep.
