Started similar topic on other games and was proven while sharing your pain is quite comfortable, it even provide more enlightenment to other players

Well, i’ll start but i dont know how stupid is this (since i just started playing a few weeks ago).

I ignore crafting completely until i realized they gave a lot of xp ONLY when the crafting level adheres to your own character level

In 2012 I spent almost everything I had at the time, about 30 gold, during the first Wintersday trying to get the Princess Doll Eternal Tonic. After I spent all my gold I was so upset I deleted the cogs and other forge items so I would never be tempted to use the Mystic Toilet for that again. I knew even then it was a gamble (and I hate gambling) but I did it anyway.

Spent 300 Gold on Exotic Greatswords and threw them in the Mystic Toilet.

Got Dawn though

500g worth of mixed rare/exotics (either all rare or all exo) spent on Mystic Forge back in my first 12mos, hoping for Pre, but got 0. Never tried it again, ever!

Crafted my last 2 pieces of Ascended armor for my Thief. But I crafted them on my engineer, put them on my engineer, salvage the 2 exotics pieces of my engineer, took the 2 melandru runes and used them on my 2 ascended pieces.

Just to figure out that these 2 piece need to go on my thief, i salvaged 2 exotic for nothing and lost 2 melandru runes. kitten it. About 15 gold, not that bad, I just felt stupid.

since both Engi and Thief use Medium, just transfer the armor

I believe the issue is that the Engineer’s armor got salvaged.

got the chosen (precursor for flameseeker prophecies) as a drop in AC explore mode…………….promptly salvaged it when i wasn’t paying attention, lost out on a ton of gold

I once bought the wrong precusor from the trading post. lol

My wife’s birthday was coming up and I was going to surprise here with the precursor. Fortunately it wasn’t one of the more expensive ones, and I ended up keeping it and making my fourth legendary, but man, I was bummed.

I actually sent in through in game mail, the wrong precursor on her birthday. And I’m watching her face when she opened her mail. As soon as she saw it, I knew it was the wrong one. She was all thankful but you don’t live with someone this long without knowing.

So I bought the right one (thus bankrupting myself completely) and sent it to her and told her to send me that one back.

Stupid mistake. lol

Bought Predator when it was 400 gold. Ended up stuck unable to get the other components. Sold it for 500… and then had to buy it again for 700.

Trying to talk to a sylvari player in cultural armour that were standing next to the bank instead of the bank But serious ? Salvaged the dwayna bow on accident

Spent >200g two times to equip chars as soon as I got 80, while being sure they’d be my new main. Dropped them both to end back with my original.

With that experience I equiped my next three chars with WvW gear from tokens. I’d like to deleat two if not all three to change names n looks but can’t get the Runes n Sigils back (to a reasonable price).

Deleted the character on which I had the greatsaw greatsword skin (before wardrobe arrived)

Not fully invest all of my gold into strength runes before the ferocity patch. That was the dumbest decision ever. ;_;

When I first started playing the game as a Sylvari over 2 years ago, I really wanted to get to this mystical place “Lion’s Arch” that I’d heard about. I spent ages fighting my way north over a few days, levelling up, until I finally got there. Then realised all I had to do was go to the mists with a click of the mouse and run through the Asura gate. It was comical.. A real “duh” moment. I’m kinda glad I felt the adventure of trying to find it though.

I deleted a character without realizing that my infinite mining pick was still there. Now I can’t get it back. Oh well, lesson learned.

Pre-order the game, thinking it’d be at least somewhat like the original.
Silly me.

Spend 100g on the TP for a skin. Even if I really liked it and was eyeing it for awhile, I should have been more cautious since I could have gotten it more cheaply.

Thinking that the absence of a Trinity system (or some modification of it) will be actually a good thing for PvE….
I feel like an i d i o t since realizing that GW2 has no dungeon PvE at all because of it……..

Believing that this company would turn the tide and bring the game back onto the street of glory.

Guildies helped me and showed me around Fractals. I think I did like 3 or 4 runs since I started. I had no clue and double clicked the Pristine Fractal Relics to Fractal Relics. There’s no hint on those things either that once you double click that’s it.
I am so kittened off at the moment cos I want to make Mawdrey and need to do some fractal to get them.

Buying the Dreamthistle Warhorn skin from the TP a few months back for 400g and then getting Howl as a drop and crafting Howler only 2 weeks after.

I mean, it is a nice horn skin, and I guess I couldn’t have known that Howl would drop, but still…

Falling from cliffs and hitting chickens like it matters -__-.

If you plan on making a mesmer never climb on anything higher than a beer crate otherwise you`ll have a crowd of ppl waiting on a portal to open up.

But yea I climbed on the mystic forge kettle at halloween waited for enough people to randomly stand around at the bottom. Opened a portal exit on the edge, jumped down, opened the entry on the ground and watched them slip and fall into the kettle.

Was fun.. feel bad for that now (maybe)..

Tried to rob a Charr with my Asura. Threatened to headnut his kneecaps if he wouldn`t hand over the dough. Didn`t work to well.

I put Sunrise on sale, and regretted the day after and removed it from tp listing .. That’s was an expensive mistake due to TP fee ^^

Threw about 1000g of exotic staves into the forge and got nothing. I also threw rare staves into the forge for a couple of months, never got anything. I also threw about 200g of greatswords into the forge to get nothing.

I ended up that I wont make the staff and bought 4 precursors until now. I never had any precursor drops in my 2.5k hours playtime.

If it’s any consolation it took me 4,4k hours and roughly 1200g to get my one and only precursor and even that was just a torch. Now rolling closer to 7k hours and 8 bought precursors and still only got that one torch.

Spent 2500 gold on mystic forge at once to get Dusk or Dawn.Then i cried like 3 months.Still no regrets ! It was a good experiment for me.

Spent a few thousand Silk (and mithril, and other T4 stuff) on the Bazaar lootboxes that finally provided a sink for the stocks i had accumulated since launch.

Then they patched in ascended gear and Damask.

LoL I did the something similar. A friend a asked me to buy the game at launch. I never played during beta or any other MMo for that matter. So I started out as a Norn and my friend said in map chat to meet her in Lions Arch. I ran all the way from Hoelbrak thru Wayfarer, Snowden, Lornar’s, and into LA. It took a couple of day’s to find my way there on an uplevel. Goodtimes

Yeah, I think we all fell for this too. We can fault ourselves for things we didn’t know.

Exchanged gems to gold only to not have enough to buy a skin i wanted on the TP, then i sold everything i had saved up in my bank and other chars i didn’t need/hoarded from gathering and still didn’t have enough but i put up my offer. I got the skin cause some precious soul out there took the offer, BUT the day right after the price on the skin dropped 200g in price.(500 was what it was listed when i tried to buy it then it dropped to 300 ish) i regretted being in such a rush. LESSON LEARNT.

then when feature patch came i got a transmutation stone for my Dusk i forgot whats the name of that thing is

i always have a big problem with that try a class max lvl him then i think nah not good

yes, ironically this is only ascended chest thats ever dropped for me so far

Started playing Living Story halfway through season 1. Very little made sense or had any context.

Sold 3x Kasmeer mini while farming Southsun Cove during the living story for about 25g each.

Similar to me (Sylvari) and my gf (Norn) on the first day. Took me plenty of time, deaths n silver while finally arriving naked.

I can also remember the time all traits were resetted and I played for hours wondering why I was having such a hard time.

Purchased Temple karma on one character with the intention of giving it to another character….again.

Reported a bug with the hope that they will fix it.
