Just seems like it’d be a nice QoL change for mesmers. It’d do the same deal with leaving a clone at your last position if you have a target, and work as a shorter range version of Infiltrator’s arrow on thief.

It’s pretty annoying having to quickly use about face two times to cover some distance on the class, and when doing it fast enough, as about face isn’t instant, it can quite easily mess up the direction you were walking in, making you have to reorient the camera.

Thoughts?

I think it is done so you go backwards or on the opposite direction of your foe so you can only use it defensively, it´s not meant to speed you up but to let you get away from danger.

That would defeat the point of it being a ‘retreat’.

As you’re running, target an enemy you’re passing, once you pass it, phase retreat and it’ll propel you forward. Do it while out of range and there is no clone to put you in combat.

I want mes portals to be a different color for entrance and exit instead of both the same white off pinkish. A greenish glow for entrance and a reddish glow for exit would be nice. That way in EotM we don’t keep going in the portals the wrong way.

Phase Retreat is a defensive combat skill. It’s intention is not for more movement but to move you out of danger.
So no to the suggestion.

Would have to rename skill. Retreat indicates going the opposite direction, not just any of them, from your opponent. Past that I don’t see what the issue would be. About face is a clunky command and I found better use remapping my key for it to something… Anything…

Circumvention with mouse is yanking down with it at like a 75-80° angle. I’m faster than about face key with it anyway.

Burning Retreat makes the ele go in the opposite direction too, what’s the issue?

Phase Retreat is what it is. It’s not Blink and it shouldn’t be.
