[Suggesion] Jumping Pazzle Reward
They’d have to go back and disable portals, gliding and stuff like shadowstep in all the JP zones, otherwise they’d be ridiculously easy to farm (like right now). Probably more work than they care about doing.
But agreed: the rewards are awful. Did Malchor’s Leap or whatever it’s called the other day. Took at least an hour and lots of pain and misery. Reward was some greens. Yay…

I don’t think it that a big of a problem to disable gliding, shadowstep and portals inside all the jumping puzzels. They did most of that job during the introduction of gliding in Tyria. And it’s just not enabling you to use those skills insdin the borderd jumping puzzle area.
Personally I don’t think it is a good idea to increase rewards… if you do this then all players that don’t like JPs will complain that they need to do them to have the rewards. Jumping puzzles don’t offer much in term of character progression and therefore it should stay as an external feature for people who enjoy them and the thing is they don’t need rewards to enjoy the JPs. Furthermore, it basically boils down to a matter of luck, but I actually looted some pieces of exotics out JPs. I also remember someone saying here on forums that they got a precursor out of completing a JP so….
The problem is that jumping puzzles are supposed to be an optional extra you do for fun if you want to.
A lot of people hate them, literally hate them, and refuse to do them at all. If the rewards were better, especially if there were unique armour sets which can’t be obtained anywhere else, then they’d feel pressured to do them and resent it. There’s already enough anger over legendary armour only coming from raids and that’s an area of the game Anet want to push people into.
Meanwhile those of us who enjoy doing jumping puzzles and already choose to do all of them don’t really gain anything from it. You can repeat all the puzzles any time you choose, you don’t need Anet to tell you to go and do it because there’s a new shiny thing stuck on the end. (Which won’t be “special” any more after a week or so when everyone else has farmed it too and moved on to the next thing.)
Having said all that the end chests from the puzzles already do have a small chance to drop rare skins. They can drop any piece of equipment that’s available as a drop, including named exotics and precursors.

But i like using portal for safety on hard jumps. I’d rather have that than better rewards

First of all I didn’t know you could get a exotics and precursors from the chest (guess I wasn’t lucky enough) so thanks for that.
Second you can argue that you don’t need any loot at the end of anything (fractals, Raids, LW, Meta event’s etc.), because it enjoyable. And there shouldn’t be any loot at the end of them, but there is one for a reason. we like to get rewarded for doing something good or achieving something difficult.
I really don’t think that a few map scraps and one armor piece (like a shoulder piece, NOT ARMOR SETS) that says I did that jumping challenge will make people rant and feel pressured to do them. I thought it will be something nice for rewording people who actually like that feature. And you not only complete the map and you get instant reward, but you actually get a map for a new jumping puzzle and at the end is a guaranteed reward.
Man this community is really difficult, it’s like you are so close minded to any new idea that is different the what Anet has been feeding you for the last 4 years, And it’s not just my ideas, every new idea that I see been brought up to this forum that is not what Anet is good (even like mounts and other things) you are insta anti. GOD….
Many people play this game , myself included because its sufficiently differant to most other MMOs thats makes it fun to play, and thats one of the reasons why people dont want alterations made that make this game just like the others.
The classic example is mounts.
Gotta have them in this game because every other game has them.
New ideas are fine as long as they dont make this game the same as the rest.

What they would need is add checkpoints into every JP but checkpoints also bring their own problems as seen with Chalice …
Both JPs in Malchor’s Leap are easy. o_O

At least half of the 12 orbs you need for that one JP are hidden in places you’d never find without a guide.
Unique titles for every jumping puzzle would be nice.

And I hate pvp/www and I know many who hate pvp/www as well… yet there ARE good rewards in there. So why not making jumping puzzle drop some things obtainable in different way too, but some good stuff too… like in PvP.
I enjoy jumping puzzles anyway but I find it unfair that I never get anything good from there. Really… not 1 good / valuable drop there : P.

How is it remotely unfair? Why should we get any loot for completing something as simple as a JP?
I’ve gotten plenty of ‘good stuff’ from JP chests; it’s extremely rare (with the exception of silver doubloons for L22-L35 toons, for which it’s just rare)
I can’t agree with the OP at all: while it would be nice to spruce up titles and rewards for JPs for various reasons, I think it would also be a waste of ANet’s limited resources. I’d much rather ANet work on new achievements and new titles.
Put another way: puzzles and their rewards aren’t broken; they don’t need attention as much as other parts of the game.

They are all easy once you know where they are. Any suggestion made without considering the fact that they can be repeated is making a big mistake.
Loot is fine it is not meant to be that great. I would like to see a title for having all of the JP completed.
The problem with jumping puzzles is that they’re too easy to bot (teleport), so making them rewarding is always going to be a risk unless they start giving them actual puzzle elements. For everything else, they could simply make them adventures on top of their current implementation, leaving them as is for the casuals while giving them a small extra reward for legit players.
Why should we get any loot for completing something as simple as a JP?
You shouldn’t, in the same way you shouldn’t get loot when you practically AFK in a zerg, but unfortunately, teNanerA.
Leave jump puzzles be. I only like to do the easy ones. Additionally, add completely new ones, everywhere! I’d like them in the other cities too. Easy ones!
Aaaaaaand what I’d like as an additional reward is tomes of knowledge, maybe for characters that are not max level, maybe for all.
(Just because I want tomes. No, I won’t do PvP for any reason ever, I despise it)
I like the star food items (ascended material I can’t remember name of) that 80s get now, it is actually my only source because I don’t do anything else. The blue and green items with chance for rares and exotics, and upgrades, are perfectly okay. Again, my only source since I don’t do anything else. I throw them in the forge, or salvage, depending on level range.
Leave portals be. I think it’s fine to use them. Some people really hate jumping. I can understand that with my PvP hate.
Having said all that the end chests from the puzzles already do have a small chance to drop rare skins. They can drop any piece of equipment that’s available as a drop, including named exotics and precursors.
Well, a chance of about 10^-10 (conservative estimate) is hardly worth mentioning.

They are all easy once you know where they are.
Just like playing guitar is easy once you know where all the notes are.
I am pretty certain that learning to play the guitar would take many hours of practice. That JP takes one run through.

Woooooooosh.
