Guild Wars 2

One thing I really liked about guild wars was the 1st person option for taking screenshots. It would make some of the screen shots in guild wars 2 pure artwork if we could have that as an option. I like taking scenery shots to use as my desktop backgrounds. But I always end up with my character in it. I would like to appreciate the work that goes into the scenery but I feel it can be spoiled sometimes with my characters in it. Just a thought.

As someone who JUST bought the game last night and is loving it to death, this is something I really want as well. However, I’m pretty sure this topic has been beat beyond death.

A.Net said the game was NOT designed for 1st person viewing. This is due to the fact A.Net wants people invested in their characters or so they said.

I think they can add an in-game camera item like Gta5 if they don’t want people to use 1st person camera.

One thing you can do is the /sleep emote to hide your character from view for screenshots. Certain tonics and toys hide your character very well also.

+1, I don’t want to physically play in first person and I understand that they don’t want people to. But this is incredibly horrible for anyone who likes taking screenshots. I love my character, but I don’t want them right in the middle of every single screenshot, sometimes I see a cool sight and I want to take a screenshot that represents what my character can SEE.

Yeah, i remember reading about that. That logic is so flawed though. I’m not going to get into the arguments though. That’s been done to death, and GW2 will never have a First Person View, which is a shame, since it was in closed beta.

Unacceptable reason.
It can be easily solved by making it so you can only change to 1st person view when not taking any action or in combat.

+1000. This would make the game more epic tenfold, and I can’t believe they refuse to add this feature..

Arenanet please, just add it in some patch and make a big preview about it in the site, calling it “Observing Mode” or something like that..

XD this is what I do to take screenshots without my toon.
Also vistas can make nice screen shots without your character and are usually pretty breathtaking.
