Since the April Feature Pack was released I’ve been enjoying fiddling around with how i want my characters to look, which armors go well together and what not, and was having a good old time.
Whilst clicking my way through the wardrobe to see which armor skins wanted to unlock next and periodically checking the Wiki to see where best to find them i realized that a surprising number of skins where no longer obtainable in the game whatsoever. e.g the light “Tribal Armor” : only available to avid pvp players before the feature pack, and no longer obtainable whatsoever (and i doubt i am the only person to be thoroughly annoyed at the grayed out squares in my wardrobe that will never be filled).
My suggestion is some form of craft-able, soul/account bound consumable that randomly unlocks one previously locked skin from your wardrobe (possibly one consumable for weapon skins and one for armor skins, or perhaps one for each crafting discipline)
This item would most likely need to be ascended level difficulty to obtain, otherwise people may feel cheated when someone else might unlock an ascended backpack skin at level four. Furthermore I would happily say that this not include skins exclusively available from the gem store, since ArenaNet understandably might not want to give items away for free to anyone and everyone.
I think that such a consumable would be a generous concession to players dedicated to completing their skin collection, or who desperately want certain skins that they were unable to obtain.
