The wife and I have been doing jumping puzzles most of the day as she’s trying to build up Empyrial fragments. While some jumping puzzles disable gliding, others do not, or there are spots in which it is enabled again and you aren’t expecting it. Honestly, the glide ability makes jumping puzzles very much not fun. When you need to make a long jump and you hold down the jump button you inadvertently trigger gliding which then sends you sailing pst what you meant to land on as you weren’t expecting it. Additionally there are sections where gliding works and can be used to shortcut the puzzle.

Would it be possible to look into developing a system whereby players can choose to disable and re/enable gliding?

Never had this problem personally but a single on/off toggle would be great.

Yes please. I hold down the space bar when jumping out of habit so I sometimes sabotage myself by hovering over the platform I’m trying to land on. ;_;

I’ve been wishing for this for awhile. Trying to make short jumps when your glider engages is a pain.

It’s been requested before. ANet hasn’t responded. A lot of the player responses say (words to the effect): “yeah, I was hard for me to adjust too, but now, I’m better at jumping because I’m more careful about when/how I press the jump key.”

John Smith: “you should kill monsters, because killing monsters is awesome.”

I don’t get it… I thought you had to double tap jumping to glide until my old man told me how this problem annoys him… at first I didn’t believe him…
I’ve never held down my jumping button for long enough to get into this issue and it must be incredibly hard to do jumping puzzles if you do…
I can see both pros and cons to making a toggle on/off, but hey, I wont complain if they do make it.

If I were you (whoever have this issue) I would do a lot of puzzles, until it stops being annoying…

And here I was thinking I was the only one having this problem. My GF is always laughing at me when I sabotage myself in a jumping puzzle, because somehow she never has this problem

So yes please, a toggle button (on/off) for this would be awesome.

Seeing a Charr burn gives a whole new perspective to the word charcoal

It seems to come down to how your keyboard reacts. For some people it never happens, for others it happens all the time.

They disabled it in most jumping puzzles but did not get all of them. There is one that was a series of short hops and the mesmer I was with just had me walk over to below the end. Where it REALLY gets annoying is vistas because they did not disable it at all there from the ones I have tried. It makes it easy for most but in some it is a real pain.
