It would be really nice if we could access our bank at Mystic Forge, like we can from crafter NPCs.

Have you tried these?
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Bank_Access_Express

one time use each but you can keep it open as long as you want. Move the window to one side when forging.
