Please add gem store item that unlocks some hair styles permanently for the account. It would be also nice if add cheaper version of Hair Kits that can only change your Hair Styles you already own.

It would be a big change for me. Because I can’t convince myself to buy something that is temporary.

But it isn’t temporary. Once you apply it to the character you can keep it forever.

Personally, I don’t think they should ever have the hair kit styles as an account unlock. I’d like to see, if they ever do a paid expansion, some new appearance options (exclusive to the expansion, not the ones we have now) unlocked with that.

That’s why they have a preview window. Realistically though I think they should just have a preview available without purchase, that way you can look at other styles and decide if you really want it or not.

That’s the way things are in real life though and in almost all other MMOs. You buy something and you have just that one copy, if you lose it you have to buy another. It seems fair to me. It is hair after all. Imagine if in real life we could save hairstyles and apply them whenever we wanted with the push of a button. If you don’t like the style, you can always change it. Not like your going to change it every day. Though, there is an item you might like. There is an endless hair style kit, but idk if you can get your hands on one anymore. Maybe someday they will re-release it.

I feel the same. We shouldn’t have to keep a makeover kit ready every time they add new faces or hairstyles. Even though dulfy.net has images of the new faces/hairstyles, it’s not the same as actually working with the sliders and creating a unique look.

yeah this is a great idea. I’ve bought a couple of those, but won’t buy another one. Its cool to make a little change once in a while, but inevitably you just want to change it again and again.

Don’t these two items exist anymore?

I don’t mind you being ok with it. But for me it’s a big difference between permanently upgrading my account and throwing away money because I want a new hair style for one of my characters.

If you EVER plan to change hairstyles, keeping one in your bank is NOT impossible. A few BL key runs will likely nab you one for free…..

Black Lion keys are “free” now? Wow, I have been gone for a long time!

Depends on how you define “Free”

You can always do keyruns with a new human char and knock them out in ~20 mins pretty easily. Do that for a couple hours and you’ve gotten a handful of keys and hopefully some goodies from the chests.

I think a purchaseable ‘second hair slot’ would be nice. A bit like that third profession choice from the gem store. Then you could choose between two styles just like you would disable your helm or shoulders. The slot would give you the selection of a standard hairstyle with the purchase, able to be changed into exclusive ones with kits as normal. That would also potentially solve some clipping issues with certain hairstyle/shoulder armour combinations, since if your hair is getting entangled, simply put it up in a ponytail!

I admit that this is an elaborate justification for my newfound ‘argh that new hairstyle looks excellent on my elementalist but juuust a little bit less good than my current one’ first world problem.

Anyways, if that option existed, I would absolutely buy that and a few kits as well. :P

I just wish new hairstyles weren’t so expensive. Making around 33gold per customer, hairstylists in Tyria are WAY overpaid for their work. That’s 330,000copper, or 20,625 Fish Steaks from Fishmonger Scipio in the Village of Shaemoor. If I ate only Fish Steaks for 3 meals a day, this equates to feeding myself for almost 19 years.

Equating that to the real world, say I fed myself for $6 a day for 19 years (a rather conservative estimate).

In that estimate, a new hairstyle in Tyria costs you the equivalent of $41,610.

I just wish they allowed us to use the Styling Kits while creating a character.

Hey, we’d all like it if the hairstyle kits were infinite-use, but for ArenaNet to change it at this point would be like burning money. People are still buying the kits, regardless.

It’s a little dull, but there are things that you can only get from the Black Lion Chests. If you aren’t going to buy gems with real money to get keys, then you can either speed-run the story quests or go grind enough gold to convert into gems. Trying to get that much gold will probably take WAY longer.

That is my point. Currently, I don’t plan to change hairstyles in any of my characters. Keeping those new styles behind a paywall with no way to look at it in-game gets no interest from me. For all I care, it could even not exist, and I will never miss it.

On the other hand, I also have no intention to buy the cosmetic armors from the gem store, but I took more time than I’m willing to admit previewing them and getting that itch that it “might be worth it” somehow. Specifically because I can preview them for free, any time I’m in game.

That is not even touching in the problem that even if I get a makeover kit, I must have at least 10 characters in my rooster to check out every possible combination. And keep switching characters while putting the kit in the bank to preview the rest.

Don’t need to be infinite use. Give us a window in the style tab, allow us to buy the individual hairstyles for 300-400 gems each, and it become an account-wide unlock. If you want to change an existing character, you should pay for the makeover kit as usual, but you get the new stuff on all your future characters.

Somethign I thought about todays too.

I would find it awesome, if every hair style, that we used by using a stylist kit would get unlocked for your account, so that we could change our hairstyles between all thos,e that we have unlocked for our account by talking to a new Hair Stylist NPC, which could let us change then our hairstyle for a small bronze/silver fee.

This game is all about style and fashion and it limits the way how our characters look and can change just quickly their looks in regard how we want that our characters should look like at the moment.

Theres absolutely no neccessity to limitate all of us in the ability to quickly change our hair styles by forcing us to always use a styling kit for that change.
Style Kits should be only bought and used to unlock new hair sytles permanently for your account.

Then there would be also a reason instantly for players to buy alot more style kits and anet could profitate by that also from that change by turning hair styles more into a direct and quick accessible permanent account COLLECTION.

Thats how hair styles should work in a game, where fashion and style is very important.
