I’m not completely sure if I’m posting in the right place after the December changes

I think GW2 should have a feature where you can make armor presets so that all your armor doesn’t take up all your inventory space and allows for quick switching(While out of combat). My Idea of this concept is that you could pay 150 or 200 gems to unlock another preset slot with max 3-5 slots where you can equip yourself with different armor.
Lets say you are in WvW and you are in a zerk, but your commander says that you need to do condition damage instead, a few mouse button clicks and you are changed into condition damage armor and you are ready for the next battle.

What if a thief ends up 1vs1 against someone, it’s not going in his favour so he stealths and tries to get out of combat, to change to something else and then attack again.

Hmmm, isnt there a system in GW2 that when you are in heavy combat you cant get out of it unless you run far away? Ive encountered that when i play theif and stealth i dont go out of combat before i leave the area.

This would be awesome. I would pay too, though probably not if it was per character (like bag slots). If a reasonable price unlocked it as a feature for all characters, like a bank tab or the wardrobe, I’d certainly pay for that.

It’d be reasonable to give it a cooldown that starts after you exit combat, maybe? So you can’t switch the instant you get out of combat. Like swapping weapons, only it’s not available in combat either. So big red x when you’re in combat, them a 15s (or whatever) cooldown when you get out of combat, then swap away?

I do not think something like this should be a gemstore item. This would seem more like something they would add in an update, kind of like the wardrobe and mini pet storage.

the community has been asking for stats changing armor since 2006

sounds like templates.

How about an item that merges 2 pieces of gear together with different stats (2 chest pieces, 2 greatswords or 2 amulets for example). That new merged item can then have the stats switched between those 2 sets. Merge again with another piece and you can switch between 3 stats, and so on. Eventually you could have a set of armor/weapons/trinkets with fully switchable stats.

This would encourage the crafting of multiple sets of gear for each set.

+1 …This is a great suggestion Matrh. It would be great not to have spare armor pieces taking-up bank/inventory space.

Would be alot simpler done, if we could manually select out 7 Equipment Pieces that we want to turn into a “Set” by holding down Shift and clicking then on the 7 Equipment (including Aqua Breather)Pieces, then doing a right click and select the Option (Create Set)

When having done this, the 7 Items will disappear from your Inventory and become a clickable Slot of maximum say for example 3 Slots (more could be bought per Gemstore then, to say a maximum of 10 per Character/or per Account, a matter of cost) that if you click on those slots instantly change your Equipment Set out then with the one, that you currently are wearing. (150 Gems, lol such a Feature would get priced for sure by anet with around 400 to 800 Gems, but a QoL worth of the price)

When creating an Equipment Set, the Game will also ask you then to give that Equipment Set a Name, which will be shown to you then, when you hover the mouse cursor above the Equipment Set Slot.

This would definetely be a really great Quality of Life Improvement for the Game and would be abkittenely something, that should be doable for the next Feature Pack.

(it’s about time for that since we got free trait reset at any place anyway… just an unnecessary hassle to pick every single trait everytime…)

Chances are you’d also need to change your traits to a build suited to condition damage for that, not just swap out your gear.

Hence, we need a build template system that allows you to store certain configurations of equipped gear + trait/skill selections.

I want to be bunker, fine. I want to swap around to DPS, let me just click this one button.

Yeah, I think this system would need to have traits included in the armor presets, you are right.

One way I have suggested it is that you can freely swap between stats you’ve unlocked in ascended gear (so like legendaries but you must unlock both stats and then you can swap). This does not however consider different looks or traits, so yeah a build template thing would be nice.

I think that two or three should be available by default, but there’s nothing wrong with selling extra templates like they do bag slots, bank tabs and characters.

Each template bought should unlock an extra gear, traits and pvp template slot. Or sell them individually for less.

Incase it wasn’t suggested (no i didn’t read everything), apply the same idea to wardrobe, so we can save looks.

I dont know if you said it already but, It would be nice to be able to save both, A preset that saves your gear and traits. So you can have different builds already saved instead of having to do all the clicking in the traits and equiping all you gear for that build.
