As the title says i think it would be a good idea for small capacity account shared bags/slots to be added to the game, that way we can share small ammounts of items from and to our other characters.

(ex. our Trading post expresses and Bank expresses that way would be accessible and able to be activated through those shared slots without needing to do the bank exchange and running into cities for a single item etc.)

(ex#2. some exotic souldbound on use item that we want to move to our new character.)

And we will be able to do that without running to a city, put that 1 item in the bank,go to our new character, find a city again, and then walk back to where you were left off with that character. All that can be minimized to a 30-second proccess using this idea.

Comment what you think about this idea point out problems that may occur with it and/or add your own examples of when this would be useful

While I would love this idea, would sort of make the bank express items obsolete.

It would be really awesome for people with permanent contracts (minus the banker), keep your bl merchant, and perma hair kit in these slots, then just have access to them when/were ever you wanted without having to run to the bank.

However with shared bank access already there, I don’t see it happening any time soon xD

That would be nice. One stack of food + utility, home portal stone, salvage-o-matic, perma harvesting tools… wait, those sound like reasons Anet wouldn’t want to!

While I would personally love such an item, it would cut into sales of harvesting tools, bank accesses, salvage-o-matics and other such items. Which means it may be a nice QoL item for us, the loss in sales of other items would mean ANet would have reasons not to make this item.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

They need to weight the consequences, sure players would stop buying multiple times the same item for their alts, but other players (like myself) would buy those kinds of item IF such bag existed.

I won’t buy a perma harvesting tool/salvage-o-matic since I end playing randomly with my 8 toons and need to go to a bank to switch every time is just too much trouble imo.

it takes all of 20 seconds to waypoint to a bank if you need to distribute items across your account, so I see no need for such a feature

5 slot would be awful. Couldn’t even share a full set of ascended armor between professions that wear the same armor type. This would be a great addition to a QoL/Feature patch: A 20-slot shared inventory bag. We’d have to buy it as it’s a convenience item, but when they made ascended armor share-able, this should have been introduced then.

20-slot seems like a it too much, 5~10 sounds more plausible.

it takes all of 20 seconds to waypoint to a bank if you need to distribute items across your account, so I see no need for such a feature

Additional loading screen count:
After I finish to play with a toon I’ll have to go to a bank (1), then log in my other toon, go to the bank (2), go back to where I wanted to be (3), after I finish go to bank again (4).

That supposing that I can access easily the bank from the WvW borderland crafting tables, besides that you need to unequip → put in the bank → remove from the bank → equip with every toon change

So in total it requires at least 4 extra loading screens and a bit of walking per character swap, besides the required bank space.

Also, that are for items that you are 100% sure you’ll keep switching, imagine that you are waiting some guild mission or something and you want to use one of your toys/tonic/instrument but it is in one of your other toon, you usually will just forget and not use it.

I think that making it a max of 8 slots is a good thing. It forces players to take the tradeoff. Account access means fewer slots for that bag position.

Additionally, Anet could bring in cash by making themselves the only vendor of the bags.
800gems for an 8 slot account share bag, and you need to buy one for each character you wish to give that ability to.
So if you want 4 characters to share the same bag, you have to buy four bags at 800gems a piece.

I have a perm bank, tp etc and I would buy one of these for sure! Although if they did make it for example: 800 gems to unlock per character I would not buy any. I like making a new character and not feeling required to “upgrade” them later on. I would gladly pay a 1 time gem fee for a small account sharing bag slot though. I would say probably 5 slots sounds fair. For perma gathering tools and 2 or so more things. (In my mind if you are swapping up ascended armor you can go to a town).

I would much prefer that it be a one time upgrade, but the reason for my suggestion of “per character” is because the cost per character would balance out the potential loss in harvesting tool sales.

I agree with you it does make sense. But it also discourages people from making more new characters. Maybe a 1 time fee but just up from 800 to something like 2k. I dunno that’s just my thought on it at least =P.

Five slots, make it a gem store item, even an expensive one. I’d buy it. This is actually a really good idea, especially being a low slot item as it’s going to inspire buying extra bag slots. Not just one, but potentially one per character. I’ve got 14 characters right now. That would be a huge influx of cash. And if you want more slots across characters you have to do it again.

This would not impede gem spending because of the handful of items it would make easier to share across characters, it would boost spending for the effort to make them available to all your characters.

This is a very useful item, and a very marketable item.
