So I got stuck with people who didn’t speak English in a dungeon run. Again. I would love to see an English flag option added to the LFG so I can filter to run with English speaking people only. I see there is an American option but since I’m on an EU server it doesn’t make sense.

Disclaimer: I don’t hate non-English speaking people (heck, English is my second language) but I’d prefer to just be able to play with people I can understand.

British English sounds much better. Well most of it. Not the upper crust Margaret Thatcher British English though.

As a Brit, and a northern one at that, I have no problem them using the USA flag to denote ‘English Language’

I would be chuffed to bits if they did one day include a British option too, but I won’t lose sleep over it if they never do this, and there’s no need anyway.

After installing games from CD-Rom since 1996 that use the USA flag as language installation option, most Brits (and most other Europeans I imagine) are kind of used to it anyway.

I think a lot of it comes from the fact that quite a number of games are also developed in the states, so having the US flag denote the “English” version probably evolved into an accepted practice.

I don’t see the point in adding the Union Jack to the LFG as a separate flag. However, I would’ve expected “English” to be covered as an icon of the American Flag and the Union Jack separated by a diagonal.

How about we just do a filter by EN. EN for ENGLISH.

I think there should also be a swiss and an austrian flag for those who speak German. And lets not forget about those whose languages aren’t even supported, like the Finns, Polish, Russians…
I get where you’re coming from but it would make things more complicated than they are. And the LFG typing space isn’t that small.

I’ll admit it’s kind of bad to still have the US flag on the EU server.

Though at the same time, international English seems to be closer to American English, at least if my time in Asia is any indication. I blame pop music and Hollywood for spreading US English around.

This is the same problem Portugese people probably have when their language option keeps using the Brazilian flag. I don’t think it’d bother me, but yeah, the dual flag is probably a good idea.
