Airships

With the new LS i am thinking more and more that would be great to have our own airships. Maybe is too much that each character/account has its own airship, but what about guilds?

Each guild could do their guild airship, this could unlock new guild events related to the airship. For example one event could be to attack a pirate airship, or could be an event in which the players must kill dragons (something like the PS) like we can see if we check the skies of Orr.

Maybe this airships could be upgraded with better cannons and shields.

Combat Suits

The idea would be to have combat suit which could be used with some restrictions. It could be simple as the siege golem (an item one can active and then build with x resources) or a more complex thing like have a new tag in the hero panel that have slots to equip upgrades (like if were armor pieces) for our combat suit.

In the second case, one could make their golem heavy armored but slower or faster but with light armor, with skills that give them fire power or more defensive ones, etc. That could also give the golem a more unique look (could be painted and all with the dyes we alredy have).

If we have combat suits, why someone would fight without them, the classes and normal weapons would be useless then? No, the idea is to make the players need to search for ammo and mats to mount the golem and use the attacks. This things could be done by completing events and finding resources over all the maps. The idea would be to only use them at key moments of the big fights, this could be done by also giving it a CD to use it again.

The combat suits would be pretty easy to implement as environmental weapons during big fights. Don’t really think they need to be more complex. People would either farm to use them all the time if they are significantly stronger than a player, or they would be ignored otherwise.

Combat suits sound like they would give a huge advantage to people with money in pvp scenarios. in pve it sounds fine though

as for airships, I absolutely loved the guild airships in ddo, and would pay a ton for something like that in gw2.

Druid main, 80 on all, Legendary ranked, Eternal and all that jazz (I go by Feyris in game)

@Ascimator.6735 i like that, i loved the marionette event and the combat suits we could use during the fight. Those were strong but the number was limited. That was a nice balance.

About the farming: they always can limit that in different ways. For example, they could give x charges when complete the daily quest or a specific event that gives it as reward only once a day. And the amount of charges one could have would be xy —> y ? 10. They could also add a big CD to prevent it to be used all the time. Or could be events one must complete to build it each time: something like build it in wvw but with an event. And if the golem was more complex, they could limit the amount of ammo one can carry, that would mean that even if the golem is up (unless it is for tank) the player would need to unmount to keep attacking.

I think there is many ways to make it posible, i just a matter of find balance.

@ITheNormalPerson.9275 yes, i think this kind of thing shouldnt be available for pvp and dont know if even for wvw. In the case of wvw, if were implemented, it should require sumis to use them (could be more or less than the siege golem ones depending on their power).

For wvw i have an idea of use the siege golem + another siege device to create different kinds of siege golems.

I also love the idea of the airships. There could be many things related to them: for one side could be the guild events like i wrote before, but could be “normal” events too or even world bosses based on airship’s fights. I think that add something like this to the game would also give a sence that this isnt just monsters attacking anymore, but this is becoming into a big war.
