My apologies if this has been suggested before…

Since Ascended Gear (and I would assume Legendary – but since I have never even seen a sniff of a pre-cursor, I wouldn’t know ) is Account bound, it would be great to have a tab under Equipment – much like Finishers, Dyes, etc. – for Ascended gear.

This way, when you log on as your necro, you can use an ascended staff or daggers, and if you switch to your Ele, you don’t have to go to a bank first, dump your gear, log onto your Ele, and then go to the bank to get your gear. It would reside in your tab.

Thoughts?

This would be a very nice QOL change when it comes to people with a lot of alts. I hate having to swap gear over so much that my thief/warr/guard/ele (the alts I play) all have their own sets of zerk trinkets just so I can be spared a little bit of the gear swapping. This plus the build saver-like function people have mentioned would make me really happy.

I’d be happy with this, but it would be nice to see other account-bound items (gathering tools, salvage kits, siege weaponry) get the same treatment too. Even some sort of shared inventory bag (from the gem store) would suit me. :s

Actually I would go with both….a shared bag for food, the things you mentioned, etc., and a tab for ascended gear. That would work well. Would be nice if we could get some feedback from Anet on this. Though, if this is something they are currently working on, perhaps they can’t say anything, which is why no comment! YES! I’ve cracked the code!

Yes, this is something that has been suggested before (even before I’d done it months ago). I’m on board with an ‘armor closet’ of sorts so we could easily share ascended and legendary items across characters.

However, I find it highly unlikely to happen. The current lack of such a convenience does several things:

-Encourages the creation of multiple sets, which helps to pull gold out of the economy through assorted sinks

-Encourages the purchase of bank space to store weapons/armor/tools so you can swap to another character to grab them.

-Encourages the purchases of banker golems so you don’t have to port back to a city

-For those that don’t buy banker golems, its a further gold sink via the waypoints

There is such a thing as “too much” convenience, and this type of feature might fall into that category.

True. Anet/NCSoft would definitely want $ spent to get mats for Ascended gear. Making it easier to share items amongst toons would be against their best interests in that regard.

Too bad really. Though, I still hold out hope. I mean, they made Dyes account bound, and provided a common tab for all characters.
