Suggestion: Ascended Mats Drop
They’re tradeable. That means if you aren’t 100% dedicated to doing every aspect of the journey solo, you can buy them off the TP, or hand the raw mats to a trusted friend or guildmate who isn’t using their daily craft to get it done faster. Also keep in mind you can craft one of EACH ascended mat every day, so the time gate will only ever be as long as the one mat you need the highest number of.

I don’t understand the you can just buy from TP argument like there’s a money tree somewhere and i’m just missing it, i don’t have the gold, so the you can’t just buy is not an option..
Either farming for gold or farming the needed mats is a time consuming task, and a really long one, i’m just suggesting something to make it a little bit easy for those who don’t have time to play 5 hours a day for months!
the usual answer… its just a skin, no in-game advantage at all.
it’s good to have long term goals for players. hardcore players can accomplish them in a few months, casuals in a year or two. nothing bad at all about that.
i play a lot and i am not planning to get a legendary at all. i dont like the skins enough to invest so much time into them. i dont feel bad about that at all.
I’m just about done with my first legendary and I haven’t even been working for 2 months on it. I only play 3 hours a day tops…usually only an hour. I will use the old way of the forge to make my next just like I did with this one.
Legendary weapons aren’t meant to be easy to get. You are supposed to have to work for them. The community asked for another way to obtain the pre and Anet put it in. It’s work. If you don’t want it to take as long, use the forge as much as you can or farm the gold for the pre.
is it really impossible to accept that there might be a thing in the game that you could only acchieve with a massive investment in time and/or money? let alone the fact that for mmo’s its vital to give even hardcore players long term goals. and consider that there is no advantage connected to them.
if you are able to invest a lot of time into something to get better at it, wouldn’t you be glad to be able to show people: hey, i earned this with my passion for what i do? wouldn’t you be a bit dissapointed if someone comes along accomplishing the same thing with much less effort? if someone decides that playing a game is his thing, than be happy for them and accept that they have earned what they have worked for. hey, they could have learned playing an instrument or speaking multiple languages in that time, getting supposedly much more out of it. but hey.
