[Suggestion] Award more money from events please
Seeing as there are over 1500 events in the game (most likely closer to, or over 2000 by now) that would very quickly completely destroy the economy. Unless the DR becomes cross-maps and starts within a few events that is.

Nope. There are way too many other ways to get gold easier and faster. If they increased the amount of gold everyone got from events, that would effectively reduce the value of the gold itself (the rule of thumb is this: more of one item = less the item itself is worth, especially to do with currencies). Then everything else would go up in price to accomodate this new value of gold, thus causing inflation.
So long Treeface.

5 to 10 silver would be great. getting less than 1 silver is really bad
If they did this, you would like it for about 10 minutes. After that, the prices would climb 5-10 times and you would STILL be unable to afford anything using event gold.

Most normal players cant afford alot of stuff on tp as it is anway, not everybody wants to farm 12 hrs a day or play the tp.
Direct gold would be bad for the economy .. but instead they should maybe throw in
some crafting mats as reward.
The sad truth is at least that the main seeling point of GW2, dynamic events, are
something that are simply not worth beeing done anymore. Beside the events in
the new zones that give better rewards.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.

This is inflation.
Welcome everyone to economics 101!

Sorry but ANET has a preference to make events more profitable to fail and farm endlessly.. completion was so yesterday apparently.

They have changed that in Silverwastes .. all the Mordrem mobs there drop nearly
nothing, so you either get the event reward or nothing.
However that also feels often like you just kill masses of mobs for nothing.

I see thanks guys it’s just I like doing open world stuff but don’t really get rewarded for my time. I’m trying to work towards a legendary but I don’t think I’m gonna make it b4 expansion

Until expac when core zones will start rewarding mats and other rewards as per last weeks blog
Isn’t anet changing the way events work to be more like the events in drytop/silverwaste, where you get little bonus chests after each event?

Pretty much this. They saw how the rewards in the new zones were working, and now expanding it to old zones, which should reduce wanting to fail events.
As for the inflation, there’s more to it than just increasing the money from events would cause it. If people don’t believe there are those out there turning gems to gold, then you aren’t being realistic. Basically, John would have to be looking at the numbers to see how this would impact the economy, how much this could add to inflation (because gems to gold causes inflation as well), and would have to implement new ways to remove gold to help curve inflation. Right now, the biggest gold sink is gold to gems.
Mmo economies are actually studied and watched nowadays, with some people actually working to find a way to deal with inflation and stuff and actually apply it to the real world. Its actually quite interesting.
I would rather see an increase when completing chain events.
A single event would award a bit less than it currently does.
But when you finish the next one your award is increased and so on. For example:
Escort warmaster chan to anchorage: 1s.
Clean anchorage: 1.5s if participated in chan event, otherwise 1s again.
Recover scrap metal in preparations of arah assault: 2s if done both pre events, 1.5 if only done 1 and 1 of its first event.
I don’t understand you guys.
I play only for two months, but I managed to gather 16 golds in first 2 weeks just by selling vulnerable items. I imagine how much will gather a player who know right places.
P.S. But I used it in 3 hours :P

Once again : Gem to Gold does NOT create gold out of thin air.
It works much like the TP only that someone exchanges his gold against gems of
another player instead of mats/weapons/armor.
There is no gold created at all .. there is even some gold removed for fees.
