[Suggestion] Chairs and benches
As simple as this is, I would LOVE this to be added to the game. It’d really improve the RP aspect of this mmoRPG. I have Skyrim mods that do this, and it really does add to the immersion of the game. Again, it’s simple, but I think this would be cool to have.
Especially while I’m figuring out what to do next, I could just chill in some inn while I talk with my guildies about our next adventure!
It’d be a nice little bonus to an expansion pack or something, I’d think.
It apparently is too large a software challenge for their resources. There have been long threads on the issue, with dev response.
The main solution that should be eminently doable for them is to have a /chair emote that sits your character in a chair (as TESO does) or to have a Chair item that using puts you in a chair, possibly with changed utility skills to affect posture. You couldn’t sit on an existing in-game chair but at least you could sit.
agreed… make it happen A-Net

They can’t sell it on the gem store; of course they don’t have the resources to spare to it.
Actually, if they did make a chair toy that you could interact with to sit in for like 800 gems, I’m sure people would buy it lol.
Priorities, what to do?

I’m probably comparing apples to oranges here, but if Skyrim modders could make mods just on immersion things like sitting/eating/drinking/etc., then how exactly is it “too large a software challenge for their resources”? If one modder can do what apparently a whole team lacks the resources to, then what’s wrong with this picture?
Again, probably not a good comparison, and I’m not trying to be aggressive or anything, so if anyone wants to correct me, feel free to, ‘cause I’m kinda not buying the “too hard” reason.

Well that’ll be cool too, if the former isn’t possible

Not going to lie, I lol’d irl. WoW has races of different sizes, but it doesn’t have this problem. I’m sure someone will come in here and explain how difficult it would be for Anet to go back and change this, but really I think it would not be that hard of a task to solve. Just do what WoW did.

^Pretty much this. And is it just me, or does it seem like any changes to the game (no matter how small) seem to be some monumental task for Anet?
