Suggestion - Deposit Gold

That sounds like an awesome idea, to be able to keep your money safe, If I were the devs I would seriously consider this.
ANet is never going to add a system that generates wealth without playing the game — interest-earning Certificate of Deposit systems would lead to all sorts of issues.
--————————————————
Separately, ANet has said repeatedly that it’s up to us to manage our own money, that they don’t want to introduce another mechanic and create additional issues (e.g. with people losing track of where they stored their coin). They might change their mind, but I’d bet against it happening.
In the mean time, there are several existing work-arounds:
- Put in low-ball buy orders for premium items, e.g. 100g for a bank contract, 100g for Eternity. Cancel the offers when you need the coin.
- Store your coin in low-volatility mats or skins. A little risk, some potential gain.
- Use a guild bank (downsides: it’s not ‘insured’ against theft like your personal account and you can only withdraw 500g/week).
you were able to deposit your gold in back before but i think they removed it . just use guild bank?

The deposit-coin-to-bank feature was removed with the introduction of the Wallet. The reason we needed the bank to hold coin was that each character had their own coin pouch, so for Character A to spend the 2 gold earned by Character B, we used to have to have B deposit 2g to the bank and then A had to head to the bank to pick it up. The new system is much, much simpler.
That is a very valuable item. If you are sure you want to buy it please enter the name of the item here:
I wish the banks had a “checking account/savings account” type gold slots, rather than work around methods such as putting gold in buy orders or using not secure guild banks to put gold aside.
What I would like is the place where the bank gold is now to stay the way it is. All new gold goes there. Below that could be a separate bank gold deposit line. Gold goes in there when you put it in manually. That way people could save for a purchase at X gold a day, just like they can in real life where you put money in your saving account and have a checking account for daily purchases.
ANet may give it to you.
I recently had interesting experience with purchasing The Legend by mistake. Got a bit lagg, and double clicked on TP, causing to instantly buy it xD
100% my mistake, and I then crafted Bifrost to sell on TP and get profit out of it, so all fine. But I would realy like to have some system in game to deposit gold in bank or something.
So if nothing else, I would avoid purchasing wrong items on TP in future. But we can go further with this idea. Some kind of banking and profits.
For example: You can deposit 1000g and if you leave it in the bank for 7 or 30 days, you get 5% worth, so after 30d, you can withdraw 1050g.
But if you withdar after 29days, you don’t get any profit.
That 5% is just a random number pulled out from the sky. So just an idea. Some might say that it would make rich players even richer, so I wouldn’t mind if we don’t get any profit from puting gold in bank.
The main reason is, to put gold somewhere safe, so I can’t buy something expencive by mistake, while I’m just looking at prices of items
The idea for a gold deposit for value over 500g is indeed something which makes sense for pure personal use as to not circumvent the reason for the 500g limit. Not sure if this is a priority or topic arenanet will cover though since it it’s basically a backup to a backup mechanism (double clicking, confirmations etc.).
The idea with the interest though you can forgot imediately. Simply put: there is no need for an interest mechanic.
Interest- bad idea. Depositing gold in your personal bank great idea! I would love to see this implemented.
Okay, so we all agree that depositing gold somewhere safe would be awesome feature.
Interest and profit from it – NOPE :P

Or, self-insure your own guild bank by not inviting anyone. Sure you have 500 limit a week but plan ahead accordingly like adults do in real life and you should be fine.

If something happens, like you accidently leave your guild which some people have done, then you can kiss your gold (and items) good bye because you’re not going to get anything back .

I see a new Gem Store possibility – pay 500 Gems to revert your account to pre Wallet status. All good!
GW2 already had separate wallets and a personal gold bank. They got rid of it and used a merged approach which, if I recall, the vast majority of the players wanted. There were a few outliers who wanted things separate but in the end, they learned to be careful in their spending/browsing endeavors.
If anything, any gold you put into ‘protection’ should cost you a small chunk of your gold.

I was one of those who didn’t like the new system and in my case it’s not so much that I got used to it as I learned to use work-arounds to compensate. I have a personal bank guild where I can store gold, but those are much harder to create than they used to be.
I would love to have the option to store gold in the bank like we used to, and I can’t see any reason it would need to affect how the wallet works so people who don’t want it can simply not use it.

Not only the above, but should (heaven forbid) your account become compromised, nothing, Gold included, will be restored.

To clarify: nothing in a guild bank will be restored (your personal account can, however, be restored to a previously saved version).
Lol, that’s why I said: ‘…nothing, Gold included…’, when referring to the post (and subject matter) I quoted. But, thanks for the clarification. ; )
