Suggestion: Dervish
The GW1 dervish won’t ever come to GW2 as it is too Human God focused. The mechanics, to an extent have been worked into current GW2 classes, can’t think of which, but unless they changed the lore behind the dervish (would kitten a lot of people off most likely) the class won’t make it into game.

Actually, not so much. The prevalent mechanic of the Dervish was consuming enchantments for even more powerful attack combinations. No current class really does that. Furthermore, I don’t feel like the PBAoE aspects of the dervish have been carried out very well either. I’m still waiting on halberds to fix that issue some day.
You do however have a point in that the Dervish will never make a comeback in GW2 as an ESpec or a character class, and exactly for the stated reasons. We could see dervishes as enemies or NPC’s though.
Sonya for females. (necro,rev,ranger,mes,engi)
All classes lvl 80.

I don’t think that’s necessarily the case. Traditions can be adopted by other cultures and evolve as time goes on. I think they’ve said that divine magic is based on belief in general rather than a specific god or set of gods. Although, a Norn channeling an Avatar of Owl does sound pretty funny. As a lore enthusiast, I think they could handle it well enough without changing the lore behind the dervish, it’s been 250 years and Elona’s changed a lot since then.
As for the mechanics, I don’t see that they’ve really been worked well into other classes, that’s part of the reason I made the post.
I’d love for the Dervish to come back. Obviously traits/skills and such would have to be planned well, to work with GW2.
I think for a specialization, channeling Varesh Ossa would be fitting. The specialization could be called ‘prophet’ (as she’s called a prophet) and it would deal with providing the player fury, increased attack speed, and scythe skills that pull players in towards you – like how the grawl in EOTM statuary creates a huge AOE that pulls everyone in with every pulse (every second), and it lasts 3 or 4 pulses. A trait could make this skill unblockable perhaps?
There’s so much potential for Dervish, as well as Ritualist, and Paragon, to make a comeback. Especially with shouts – Paragons and runes that effect shouts, could work, and Ritualists could deal with bundles and holding ashes, for epic effects – like that skill where you hold someone’s ashes and whenever you’re hit by something, you get healed. A trait could make it so that whenever you’re holding ashes/a bundle, you gain retaliation – so you not only get healed when hit, but you deal damage to enemies through retaliation.
There is so much potential, but I feel as though it’ll never happen, sadly we can dream though
