Alright so this might be a bad time to be putting in ideas for Legendary weapons but hear me out. Dhuum’s Scythe thematically is one of the coolest weapons IMO that would benefit immensely from the attention to detail and effects that are applied to Legendary weapons. So I just wanted to jot down ideas in a place that might one day get seen.

Lore: So first would be that this weapon has lore tied to it already since it obviously existed in GW1. I think this could actually be expanded on (or even re-imagined) as well if it were reintroduced to GW2 as a Legendary weapon.

My main example would be that Dhuum has kept watch over the River of Souls throughout time even while sealed in the Underworld, but how? Well imagine if the blade of Dhuum’s Scythe and it’s trails allowed him to see the River of Souls? It would allow him to watch the souls that he banished/reaped at any given time as well as keep track of how much power he was accumulating while sealed in the Underworld.

Visuals: My thought for this is a very similar style to Twilight or Astralaria except that instead of a galaxy, when you view into the green blade (and the trails) of the Scythe you’ll see the River of Souls.

The footfalls could be greenish puddles that small spirits float out of as you move.

Perhaps unsheathing the scythe would also expel an initial wave of souls pouring out of the player.

Weapon Type: This is one where I’m going to argue for an odd case. I know that every “Scythe” in the game so far has been a Staff which would be alright. However when Dhuum comes and bans a player, he doesn’t do it with projectiles or flashy magic, nope this dude appears right next to you and cuts you down.

So although it would be odd on certain professions (mesmer?) I would personally make the case for Greatsword. A lot of professions have a whirl attack with the Greatsword that would make this weapon really fulfill it’s potential with these effects (I mean come on, Reaper with Gravedigger? Aww Yeaaah). It is a brutal physical weapon with an intimidating presence that I think Dhuum would approve of.

Added some photos to represent the themes, as a disclaimer none of them are my own work (Most will probably be veeery familiar).

TL;DR: Dhuum’s Scythe is really cool and would be awesome as a Legendary weapon because people like me would play the stuffing out of existing content to get one.

I support this.

Hopefully it will be a legendary and not a gemstore skin….

Reaper with dhumms scythe would quite literally be heresy. Let’s not forget Dhuum hates necromancy….

This would be a staff though right? Cause i donno if this would work as a Greatsword. And they already did a legendary staff.

I like the idea. How ever as suggested, the staff would fit the scythe better. A melee staff at that. Like how daredevil and revenant use it. I was expecting that the second generation of the legendary staff would be something melee based. Since we just have 2 skins for that. But Anet decided to go for Nevermore unfortunately. So with that being said.. dont get your hopes up

Edit: The chances of Anet adding such a thing as a gemstore skin, are bigger. So i kinda hope they will do that at least

I´m more interested in his regalia which you can see in the second picture.

Either as gemstore-armor (not outfit), or as collection-reward.
That would be awesome.
