[Suggestion] Documentary on Anet
Behind the scenes at Anet?
I really like this idea, however, it looks like they need all their recourses to repair the game.
I think it would be amazing if Anet paid one of their interns or someone to spend a week or two making a little documentary on the inner-workings of the studio. No secrets need be revealed, I just think people would appreciate an in-depth look at exactly what devs do at their desks all day. Sometimes I feel like the average player assumes the 300 Anet employees are like the 300 Spartans, and they don’t really understand the inner workings of a game studio.
Tell us :
- How many 3d modelers does it take to make a weapon/armor skin pack?
- How many hours does that take?
- What is the process?
- How many animators work on new animations for new content?
- How many hours does it take to make an animation?
- What kind of challenges have programmers had to overcome in past patches?
- How many man-hours are spent on QA for a given patch?
- Explain the iterative design process (spiral process?)
- Give us an idea the process you go through when looking at skills, runes, traits, etc to rebalance them.
- Give us an idea from concept to completion how a new spvp map is created.
- Show us the process for creating a PvE zone with events and stuff.
- How many people does it take to make a new zone? How many man hours?
- Show us some footage of the studio and people working (blurr stuff out if you need to)
