Suggestion: Double Jump
Hmmm, I never played that ‘other game’ I guess.
Maybe explain more bout the mechanic.
There is a sort of double jump in gw2, but it is pretty hard. It is actually landing on a slope you slip of, and while slipping to jump again to come higher. so if you mean that, it is allready here, but tricky to pull off.
If you mean pressing jump twice to jump higher, then it would make jumping puzzles too easy imo, and it would only make sense if the puzzles where redesigned to actually make use of this.
Also that would make people ask for triple jumps afterwards, all the way till we are all flappy birds.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
We already have something like that. And it’s far better.
Double jump is explained in that “other game” by saying that the planet on which it takes place has low gravity.
Really, it’s just a game convention that doesn’t make much sense. There’s no reason to add it to GW2.

It is variable gravity, depends on where you are and what you interact with.
While debating what does and does not make sense in a game is fun I just really liked the ability.

Except you can always double jump, so the baseline gravity, without any loftite around, is still explained as being low. Not that it really makes any sense from a physics point of view, because floating still doesn’t give you something to push off of mid air to do a second jump.

Fair enough, but then there isn’t much discussion to be had beyond “I like it” and “I don’t”.
One could offer the suggestion that GW2 implement sparkly rainbow vampire sloths, but it wouldn’t be a very meaningful suggestion without a reason behind how they would fit into the game and improve it.
I see no need for such a mechanic. The game is balanced (jumping anyway) on the jumps that we already have. No need to increase them in any way. Especially with something that is a physical anomoly.
It is as you say wildstar but I am only using it as a frame of reverence for a very specific thing.
I could suggest anything and it would always boil down to I want it because I would enjoy having it. Every suggestion in any field boils down to the desire of the person giving the suggestion nothing more.
Frankly if they could put in place the movement ability of Sanctum of the winds I would love it much more. That unfortunately would break so much of what is in place in the game that I can’t see it being anything other than something that can only be done in that area. Double jumps I can see as being able to be integrated into the game.
Why do people try to make one game into another game?
Why do people try to make one game into another game?
Because the other is better but we still have to wait for it. :P

Better is relative, I personally don’t believe it is even on par. This suggestion is only and exclusively about the ability to double jump, nothing else.
The entire game is balanced around a single jump. Adding a double jump would trivialize most of the jumping puzzles and let players get to a lot of places meant to be inaccessible, which would potentially break maps and such.
So no.
