[Suggestion] Down level loot option
sounds useful to me.
I would probably go a step further and have a “Set Loot Level” button. This would allow you to pick what level you were percieved as when it was loot time. If you picked level 5, then you would get level 5 loot regardless of the map. That might be taking it too far though.
But, yeah +1
Gates Of Madness
Jewelcrafting to 500!
Spend laurels on mid-tier crafting materials. Win/Win.
I think this is a great Idea
+1
@Gobble D Goop – That is a good idea, however, everyone could set their loot levels to a certain level, then go into somewhere like queensdale and just 1 shot a million bandits and it would nuke that price down, similar to how silk used to be pre-ascended around 10c and a massive surplus piled in the tp.
prices would either fluctuate (like they should) or everything would just end up like leather and too much for it to be worth anything
set the drops to the downlevel set by the map (with the option ofc) and maybe test the set loot level but it seems like it would cause more harm to the economy than intended imo.

I think they are talking more for things like cloth, because there needs to be an increase of cloth supply, linen, cotton, silk, and damask prices are stupid high and the laurels only let you buy the rare mats, which are cheaper anyways since those do scale to the downlevel based on the map
I like the OP’s idea very much. It would be another way to incentivize play in lower level areas. The original change was made because they felt players weren’t playing the low level zones due to low level loot. Now, as pointed out, ascended gear has made low level gear valuable again.
One added toggle would be to omit Champ bags. I got my only precursor drop from a Champ bag (one of Mordniir’s dogs) and that could just as easily have been a level 40 rare if this was in place.

The problem with the OP’s idea as written is everyone will set it to level 50 and then camp in Queensdale or another such starter zone and farm. Tanking the economy.
They should have a setting where the loot is either based on your actual level or based on the area’s level.

If an option could be added to the game, in the hero panel or something, for players to choose to only get loot for their down levelled levels, that could potentially be a solution to players wanting to get mid level crafting materials easily.
That is exactly what the OP wrote. Players camping Queensdale would get Jute and Green wood in this scheme. As it is, players only go to Starter Zones for easy Champ trains and World Bosses. Mid level zones might see a marked increase in population with something like this.
I’ll add my +1 to this.
A simple option in the hero panel to chose either actual level loot or down level loot would suit me. It might also help keep the mid level maps busy.
+1 For me as well. It cost me a kidney to level up my crafting, especially for the mid tier ingredients.
Most of veterans do eotm anyway to power level (at least for me, hahahahaha)
