Given how often we see posts in here about how people have gotten scammed, or gotten a phishing email in the game, I think there needs to be a small change to the email system.

The first time it’s opened (or the next time, if you’re already playing), there needs to be a One-Time message that appears that spells out in big red letters that sending things through email is at your own risk, and that ANet will not contact you through the in-game email about account problems.

New players will see the message, and if they ignore it then it’s on their heads. Either way, it should cut down on the amount of time spent dealing with such issues.

delicate, brick-like subtlety.

Not just that.

They should make an outfit version of the old cultural Town Clothes that is now just a tonic, and give it to players in that message.

Players that get an item on the mail are more likely to read the message.

That way players learn that when ANet sends any message or gives something, it has ANet’s logo.

It should be the very first message any account gets. A welcome, a gift, a warning, and something that even veterans will welcome.

The inclusion of a gift to make sure it grabs their attention isn’t a bad idea, actually.
