[Suggestion] Emoji Support.
I dont support this because it leads to people not being able to express their emotions anymore.
I dont want my kids to show me an emoji on their smart phone, when i ask how the are doing.

This is a forum, not a chat room.
I see 0% need for resources going for something such as this.
Oh you millenials, destroying the English language one text at a time.
Because I’m feeling a healthy mix of lazy and terror at googling them – what the kitten is an emoji? Is it like an emoticon? If so why can’t the OP use ASCII like the rest of us?

I’m not sure how that works. I just don’t understand. Emoticons are supposed to add to the conversation. Why is “I’m fine” better than “I’m fine”? Especially if the first one can be miss-interpreted as something bad? If you add a simple smile, you can change the tone of your entire sentence.
Could you explain please?

There is no explanation. Emoticons (which is what they should be called) are there to give a facial expression to text, to simulate body language. They are useful to prevent misinterpretation in a quick text.
Also, to Wanze, do you encourage your kids to use apostrophes and to capitalize the word “I?”
:D

delicate, brick-like subtlety.
Simple emoticons I understand, to clarify the tone of a post. <3
What I don’t understand is how adding an icon of a building to your post/text helps anything. It certainly doesn’t shortcut anything, given there’s a list of hundreds to look through. Did you know there’s an analog clock emoji for every half hour. How is that in anyway easier or faster then just typing 2:30?
Maybe I’m old fashioned, but I don’t like the global idea of replacing words with pictures. A picture may be worth a thousand words, but it’s figuring out which one out of a thousand you meant that makes it really difficult to understand anything.
Now having said that, if you really want to be able to add a monkey icon after your post on the forums, I don’t see anything wrong with having the ability to do so. On the forums. In-game, that’s a terrible, terrible idea.

While emoticons are useful in textual communication, I don’t really understand how a yellow smily face is any better than a colon next to a bracket : )
So, no, to OP.
A good ‘ol ! sometimes can do as much as an emoticon you know? "I’m fine." “I’m fine!” But personally, I neither support nor have anything against it, just wanting to share some opinion. u.u

I dont have kids.
But I regularly get job applications from young people through my work and if those include an emote, i stop reading.

No, emojis would be “too confusing for the players™”.
I figured people would find it conflicting with their literary prowess of the English language. Looks like people choose to be more upset about it than they actually are. I like Emoji’s and I certainly wouldn’t get upset with my childen if they used emoji’s because I’m stuck in a generation that didn’t use them as much. Whether people want them or not, they should be supported for people that do want them.
Oppression of the majority and all that. Just because most people don’t want them, doesn’t mean that it shouldn’t be supported. Most people don’t even know what they want, and just want to complain in general. Add them.
No thanks.
Best suggestion ever.
I have no particular stance for or against the inclusion of emoji’s, either on the forums or in the game. It doesn’t change my writing style either way. :P
Ugh, come on. Just type out the kitten smileys like every other person does. We don’t need emojis or whatever on top of all the ><, 0.0, (>^_^)>, and all those other dumb things.
I already get a headache from people writing “:)” or “)” after everything. It’s kinda like saying “Look, I am happy, do not misunderstand me!” after your every sentence. It’s annoying overexposure.
Subtlety is a virtue.

It’s not like saying “I am happy”… it’s like smiling while talking. Emoticons are to convey the non-verbal parts of spoken conversation, in a medium that only allows text. Of course, they can be overused… just like people can be overly emotive while they’re speaking.
