[Suggestion] Exotics full use...

You can upgrade your agony infusions to +10 AR and then put it on your 5 trinkets, no need to craft any ascended gear to get 50 AR.

What about those who don’t have laurels at the moment, but barely 400 crafting…

If you don’t have laurels at the moment then start doing dailies and monthlies and you’ll get some. Doing dailies isn’t difficult, especially now they’ve merged the PvE and PvP ones.
They’re never going to use your suggestion because the whole point of high level Fractals and ascended gear was to give people who like acquiring hard to get gear for a hard to do dungeon something to do.
I’m not sure how many people remember this but when the game launched there was no ascended gear, exotic was the highest tier (and legendary weapons had exotic stats). And some people flew through levelling, got their exotics and then spent close to 2 months complaining that there was nothing left for them to do.
So they added Fractals in the November 2012 update and the first pieces of ascended gear (only rings back then).
IMO they did it quite cleverly because if you just want to complete the Fractals you can do it below level 10, in exotics, and it’s possible to complete every Fractal. You only need ascended gear if you want the extra challenge offered by the higher levels. That’s what they meant when they said you can play the entire game without ascended gear.

Except doing so will make mursaat never return…
Since the war on kryta never extended to the isles of janthir, from where Mursaat came from. So they might have written them off as being killed off by a dragon in the background…
Perhaps could say it’s same fate as gargoyles, disappear without anyone noticing.
Still, limiting content to ascended and infusions, is still pretty much denying access and making ascended a requirement, so grind again…
Tho, unless it was an expansion that must be bought, then it’s a different matter.

You’re not denied access to any of the content. All 14 Fractals can come up when you’re doing it below level 10, so you can play and complete all of them without ascended gear or infusions.
The only thing you can’t get are the fractal weapons skins.

How do you not have laurels? I have 2 ascended amulets, 1 ascended ring, something like 40 laurels worth of dyes, and a few gathering tools, and I have 70 laurels.

I thought, from reading the wiki, that you could only put AR infusions in Rings and Back Pieces. I don’t do fractals often so I have not worried about it, but I was researching it in case I started doing them more often. Could you point me to any info on AR infusions on other items?
how about you just run fractals 1-9 and you’ll have 9 pristine relics. Run any one of them one more time and you’ll have 10 = guaranteed ring. 5 AR is enough to surive unavoidable agony until you get another ring as a drop (quite common) or another 10 relics (run 1-9 and 10-19 each day = 5 more days for another ring).
I don’t see a problem here, it’s working in a likeable fashion. I’m doing 30-39 fractals without a single piece of ascended armor (only have wupwup stats, screw that) and no infusions in my weapons.
The FotM AR progression is slightly slower than your personal reward level progression, but if that bothers you you can compensate with laurels. Play how you want. I did it by mixing in previous tiers while leveling my reward level, and I never had an issue when I unlocked a new tier.
OP’s obvious goal (needed or not) is to get infusion slots for Exotic gear, so I fear all these (very good) suggestions are being shoved aside to continue focusing on the OPs real goal. All the suggestions being made are wasted (IMO), as the OP is likely already aware of them and doesn’t really want those “solutions” to the “dilemma”.
If some content (besides higher Fractals) presents itself in game that requires AR in a more general sense (i.e. Mursaat show back up), I’ll back this request, but until then, it’s simply not needed. It also removes some incentive for pursuing Ascended gear (in a very narrow segment of players), which I doubt Anet wants to take away.
I also find the idea of Fractal player without access to Laurels rather far fetched.

Or a fractal player who doesn’t have pristine fractal relics for that matter. How in the world does anyone play fractals regularly and not have enough to buy rings? I’ve only played a few times and I have pristine fractal relics.

Pretty much to give infusions more use and to extent possibility for Mursaat, their homelands and other possiblilties of Agony using monsters to have a chance of appearing, rather than having dragon slaughter them all in the background…
Yet again, did GW1 players have incentive to get Elite armors…

You can infuse your rings and backpieces to carry agony resistance infusions. They can go up to at least +14, so 30 AR on all your ascended trinkets + 3 trinkets w/ x amount of agony resistance = 30 + x AR. Example: My guard has 30 AR from 6 trinkets regular infusion. 3 of those are “infused” (you can wiki how to do that) and they each have +6 on them. I have a total of 48 AR from my trinkets alone. If I were to put agony resistance on my ascended weapons as well, that would just add to it.
There you go: You don’t need to craft ascended armor
Also, you can use pristine fractal relics (10 of them) to get whatever ring you want. You can use Guild commendations to get accessories, but amulets are the only things required to spend laurels on. You can forge backpieces w/o visiting fractals once!

Forget the mursaat, bring on Cantha for the love the six.
