We all hate one fractal more or less (i.e. Thaumanova – can be a real pain with people who don’t know this fractal, or Mai Trin boss fight).

What about the option to voteban a fractal – to make it guaranteed not to appear during your run, but at the cost of having to vote two out of three randomly chosen fractals that are guaranteed to appear?

Algorithm:
1st: Before starting the series you can choose to voteban a fractal. If the majority confirms the wish to ban a fractal, a majority vote on which fractal to ban is started.

2nd: A list of three randomly chosen fractals will be generated. Another majority vote is held on which fractal to pick first, then another on the remaining two choices on which fractal to pick second.

3rd: The fractal banned won’t appear during the run, but the other two picked fractals are guaranteed instead.

i love thaumanova, and mai trin is soloable at lvl 50 with warrior (yes, after patch). However i hate the one with the draga and the ice elemental at the end.

If i understood it right, the group would be able to choose some fractals, that’s a Bad idea, since it could be used to choose the easier or faster ones and exploit a faceroll mode.

A better suggestion imo would be to BAN a fractal, but in that case you get two on the first rotation fractals. Right now is something like:
1 – Aquatic Ruins, Swampland, Urban Battlegrounds, Uncategorized.
2 – Uncategorized, Snowblind, Urban Battlegrounds, Molten Furnace, Cliffside.
3 – Aetherblade, Volcanic, Thaumanova Reactor, Underground Facility, Cliffside.
4 – Solid Ocean Fractal, Molten Boss Fractal or Captain Mai Trin Boss Fractal.
But with that suggestion you would get.
1 – Aquatic Ruins, Swampland, Urban Battlegrounds, Uncategorized.
2 – Aquatic Ruins, Swampland, Urban Battlegrounds, Uncategorized.
3 – Uncategorized, Snowblind, Urban Battlegrounds, Molten Furnace, Cliffside.
4 – Aetherblade, Volcanic, Thaumanova Reactor, Underground Facility, Cliffside.
5 – Solid Ocean Fractal, Molten Boss Fractal or Captain Mai Trin Boss Fractal.

Yes, 5 fractals instead of 4 but you could Ban a kittene like mai trin or the one you like… at a price. What do you think?

When the group bans a fractal, the group has to choose two out of three randomly chosen fractals. It can be good fractals or all three (where you have to vote two from) can be bad.

No, but:
One fractal is banned, so it can be:
chosen fractal 1, x, chosen fractal 2, x
x, x, chosen fractal 1, chosen fractal 2
or even
chosen fractal 1, chosen fractal 2, x, x
where x is a random fractal (but not the banned one)

So these are separable suggestions, right? Like you could just implement the ban list without the vote list, or vice versa?

No. If you wish to ban a fractal, you are forced to pick 2 of 3 randomly listed fractals which will then be the guaranteed ones, making banning a fractal sort-of a gamble.

Pretty sure the point of random fractals is that you don’t get to choose which one you play. I don’t think letting players avoid certain fractals is an elegant solution, nor will it foster a good environment in the LFG community. I would rather see more fractal types added to the mix, so that there is greater variety.
