[Suggestion] GW2 outfit to work like in GW1

Probably been suggested before.

Basically, I miss GW1’s way of handling Outfits. And would like to see that carrying over to GW2.

  • In GW1 you could enable/disable Outfit and Hat separately, and thus also mix them as they where 2 different pieces.
  • You could also enable/disable them separately for show/hide in City/World. So walking into a city you automatically put on your finery or casual clothes etc.
  • This effectively allowed us to mix Outfit’s with normal Head armor skins, or Hat’s with normal Armor Skins.

Problems:

  • It might be hard to allow mixing all the Hat/Helmet’s, as there would likely be all kinds of clipping issues with some of them (Pumpkin head for one)
  • Might be too much work to separate all the heads from the Outfits.

Benefits:

  • Just letting us enable Outfits in/out of cities would help us somewhat retain the feel of old Town Clothes.
  • Let us enable/disable head pieces for City/World, would also help on the same, as for ex my guardian perhaps wants to walk with helmet off when in cities etc. Helps with immersion and feel of roleplay.
  • If allowed to mix hats and helmets this way, it would create a lot of more options for looks. Personally find the main restriction with outfits to be the head piece that is locked to it.
  • Gazillions of people get to use Cat-Ears with their outfits sigh Necessary evil I guess.

Other notes:

  • Not my preferred option, but tonics as outfits ? Miss the old town clothes, and being able to color them etc.
  • Best of all would be return of old town Clothes system with a GW1 style enable/disable, but I know that isn’t coming back.
