lose a pip,win 2 pips,lose a pip,lose a pip…………..-
-Go go Espartz.-
1.Dead NPCs.All over the place. What purpose do they serve? They just stay
dead, when you rez them they say something heroic, and as soon as an insect
sneezes near them they die. They are dead on the roads,on the side of the roads,
in camps,around camps,in the forests,in the fields,in the lakes,the seas,everywhere.
What’s worse is when there are live NPCs right next to dead ones.Oblivion.
They stand over the dead and talk about whatever.wtf.Why don’t they rez
them?This is so not normal.
Give them something meaningful to do,alive,at least program the live ones
to rez the dead near them,or simply remove them.
-2.Short to non existent event reset timers.
If I was given the task to sabotage the DE system, and cancel whatever effect it
might have in making the game world a bit more alive than the norm,I would use exactly the same timers that are currently in use,in game.Your competitors thank you.
-3.PvE AI siege machines.
Take in account just the effective radius to acquire target.check
Ignore line of sight.check
Ignore terrain, target and fire even through mountain walls.check
Ignore water, and fire through it as if it was not there.check
Respawn 20 sec after being destroyed.check
Remove them, they are inferior quality designs.
Although these are minor issues currently, i still have to upvote this because I do agree with them and you simply wrote it in a way that was amusing.
Part of those NPCs are there to facilitate the completion of hearts. And it helps move you along your Resurrection achievement.
There are places where NPCs DO rez others, but not generally in heart areas. I’ve seen it happen in parts of Orr for example.
Dead NPCs serve purpose of helping completing a daily achievement and hearts.
Where are these PvE AI controlled siege machines though?

The Dead NPCs thing is particularly atrocious. NPCs should be weak offensively but strong defensively. They shouldn’t go down from a couple hits from a single mob.
It totally takes away immersion in the game that NPCs stay dead way more often than they are alive in virtually every zone. Events would feel a lot more epic with smaller number of players if the NPCs were actually capable of participating in them.
1. Defeated NPCs (the dead ones you can’t revive) are there for hearts and so you can get daily reviver. Reviving NPCs gives exp and counts for hearts.
2. Event timers do not make a game “more alive”. In fact, they make it less. Players are too used to play like mindless drones. Responding to numbers, playing with the UI instead playing with the game. That’s not a problem with he game, but with the player’s mindset, you can’t do anything about it. But for timers, there’s the API already.
3- Most of them are there for flavor, or to help with particular events. Outside those events, they are mostly useless, but are still there for flavor.

North-West of Gendarran Fields is a very annoying spot where you can’t even kill the Centaur that just attacked you without beeing hit an kicked arround by some Trebuchets that you don’t even see. You can even enter the entrance of the cave there and have constantly red circles around you.
