I know similar threads have been made before asking for the armor sets to be sold in individual pieces. However I haven’t seen one suggesting it in the form of an armor box (and part of the reason I discounted it as ‘not going to happen’ is because it would be a real chore to scroll through that many separate pieces in the Style tab).

So! What if Anet released a Gemstore Armor Box that allowed you to select one of the armor skin pieces commonly available for 200-250 Gems (ie. Magitech, Phalanx, Flamekissed, Aetherblade, etc. Perhaps Krytan, Primeval and Profane as well even though those are 500 gem sets). Each set typically sells for 800 gems so 200 is a 50% markup on 1/6th of the set, and in exchange you are able to pick and choose pieces that you want. And wouldn’t apply to skins that are sold separately like hats or glasses.

This is a great solution if you’ve correctly identified the single reason ANet hasn’t offered these skins individually so far. My guess is there are half a dozen reasons, including that slightly more than 25% of their target audience seem willing to pay 800 gems (for the set) instead of just 200 (for the single skin).

That said, at some point, their target market is going to be saturated, so this should be tempting to the Gem Shop folks. I certainly know people who have held out buying these sets, heavily discounted or not, because they just want one or two pieces.
