Hi,

I think since we have ground targetable decorations for guild halls, that can’t be placed inside each other due to decorations detecting clashes, that it’s about time we had a similar way of placing guild banners. Why?

The image below (not banners I’ve placed I might add, I learned this hard lesson long ago!) shows how easy it is to accidentally place many banners on the exact same spot. Banners that some guild members or guilds may have worked very hard on.

I’m sure in most people’s cases, it’s only happened a first time to them, and after that they remember. But it’s still banner bonuses that are lost to everyone in the map, and the time and/or resources spent on getting the banners wasted for the kind soul who placed them!

It is annoying, but I’m pretty sure you can bind a key for next ally (in options) to toggle between them.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

Flesh is right. I found a stack of 4 banners at Fire Elemental, quickly bound … F9? I forget now … and was able to interact with all 4 in sequence even with other players right on top of them.

It would still be nice to have a safeguard against stacking them, though.

Aye, I knew of this myself, but still find it less convenient than running past each one whilst mashing F! :p

Hmm.. this technique reminds me of what you need to do in Divinity’s Reach often.. maybe not just do ground targeting for guild banners, but for Boxes of Fun as well? Give the ground target the same collision detection as decorations, so people can no longer add a Box o’ Fun outside a banker? rubs chin
