Id like to see more instancing in gw2.

I like the change to downscaling so I don’t 1shot everything but I think it can be done better then simply making all our off stats worthless in low lvl zones.

My suggestion: Instanced Hardmode Open-World Maps for lvl 80s.
How would it work? many possible ways im sure.

*no downscaling, lvl 80 all zones
*solo? 5man? guild?
*all creatures veterans at minimum, vets->elites, elites->champs, champs->legendaries
*all creatures deal much more dmg and have more/better skills but have less hp/toughness (no more punching bag encounters please !)
*instance based map completion that will reset after finished/leaving
*instance based reward tracks that reset after finished/leaving?
*events that you complete stay completed until you leave
*foes you kill stay dead until you leave
*nodes should probably stay same as loot will provide lvl 80 mats

Id like more of my own maps that I can replay similar to gw1. Not sure its possible but this is my suggestion ;-)

I’d really like something like this. It would be similar to the gw1 vanq’ing system except we would actually do it in groups instead of slogging through with a bunch of necro heroes. I really liked the feeling that you were working your way through a map and making a lasting change to it, everything in gw2 feels so transient as the mobs respawn behind you or the event chains cycle backwards.

I’d like it to be tailored to around 15 players with the aim being to complete an event chain (could use a subset of existing events) rather than kill every mob on the map. That way events occurring at different points across the map could encourage us to split up and form back together to beat events of varying difficulty as they occur.

Some bulleted thoughts:

  • Failed events could repeat but reduce your reward / trigger new enemy spawns
  • Event status could be advertised across the map like fort status in the silverwastes.
  • maps could be easy enough to be puggable but with optional handicaps (map wide effects, extra mobs, more simultaneous events) to increase difficulty and reward for co-ordinated groups.
  • instances could be run like maps with very low population caps to allow unorganized groups to have players drop in and out organically rather than organize a large party through LFG and keep everyone on-board throughout the map.

Its funny, when I suggested this nearly 18+months ago I got shot down so kitten the forums, as people where all shouting about we need more people in the maps not less, this will take people away from open world content bla bla bla bla bla.

I think they should give the option to do this as a 5 man content, in HM, they could do it via a portal in LA, where you tell an NPC what zone you want to do etc,

But, certain events would not spawn, no world bosses, and no massive meta events, as this will lead to farming of said events which is not a good idea, as people will just roll x zone go do event, leave, re-roll.
