Hey Anet, I’ve read in the announcement that you’re looking into making improvements that would also fit big guilds. An idea popped into my mind there so i’l share it.

Allow guilds to create a “New map instance license”, where they can essentially open a completely new instance of a whole map just for the guild and anyone invited (via partying). This would be particularly useful in Orr for organizing Temple events.

Anyone in the guild would be able to join the map instance from anywhere in the world with a click of a button (in the guild window). And once a guild is sure that all its members are there and they want more help the guild leaders can choose to open the instance to everyone. The license would last for 8 hours, and could be closed to shut down the instance and freeze the timer.


Another idea about the megaservers. Since these servers are essentially channels of the same map it would be handy to be able to select which version of the map you want to join. So, a selection window, similar to the PvP match list. You could switch channel at anytime and move to a diffrent instance of the map without going back to character select and back into the game (which is random). In the list you’d see how many players are present in the instance and what is the main language spoken in it, if its too full you won’t be able to join of course.

The second proposition, with moving between various map populations, is not only needed. It possibly could allow dozens of players who left the game to return and not be forced to run popular events with a million-people lightshow.

Functions that could be useful to have (My opinions mostly, but there are also others who agreed with these.)

  • Queue function, since repeating “Join in *” is annoying and frustrating.
  • Mixed and Home sorting selector, so that we can affect priorities on some extent.
  • “Reconnect on Disconnect”, which would work when game crashes or on dc, reserves the player’s spot for some time, so that the player can get back into the battle, instead of being thrown into another map copy…
I’m a casual PvE adventurer, I enjoy combat, adventure and helping, but not farming.
I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.
